CULTURAL TOUCHES // We love elopement weddings with meaning and personal details and one of the best ways to do that is to bring elements of Hawaii culture to your day - after all you are choosing Hawaii as your place to celebrate!

Many of our couples choose to incorporate Hawaiian elements into their ceremonies like a traditional Hawaiian ring blessing, a conch shell blowing or a Hawaiian prayer.

Another very traditional way to bring some local elements into your day is to wear flowers. For men it is customary to wear a long open leaf lei as the groom and for women you can either choose to wear a longer white lei or a flower crown, which we call a haku lei.

Hawaii is a place as rich with local history, customs and traditions as it is with beauty,. And we love helping our couples incorporate elements of that into their wedding day. Want to know more? DM us!

INVITE OR ANNOUNCEMENT // Do you know the difference between an elopement announcement and an elopement invitation? Do you also know who they get sent to and when?

A lot of couples get confused as to whether they need to be sending out invites or not for their elopement and how to tell family and friends the news once they have eloped. Well we are here to clear that up!

You certainly can send invitations prior to your elopement or micro wedding, but just as with a traditional wedding, you only send them to guests who are invited to come. For close friends and family who are not invited to your wedding, you skip the invite and send them a personal elopement announcement after your elopement to let them know that you got married before they hear it elsewhere.

When you have an elopement planner, they are going to make sure you know all the elopement etiquette and answer those million questions you are trying to look up online. Some couples want a moment before they officially say their "I Do's" to do a first look together and to say their personal vows in a place where they can keep them private. PRICING TRANSPARENCY // Can we be real for a minute? A lot of the pricing you see online or get quoted in sales calls is actually much less than what you are going to end up paying 🤥

There are a lot of reasons for that; some big companies are just not upfront about huge fees and additional charges, some vendors only quote the minimum spend, some aren't clear on how they get paid and some just show pricing online that is not even real! 🤯

We are not fans of that. ❌ Weddings can be pricey because they usually involve more elements than you know you need at the start and you just aren't aware of some of the pricing structures of the locations and vendors you are hiring.

So, while accurate pricing may not be what you want to hear - we think that is what couples should be hearing. And while we don't like to be the bearer of bad news, we love to help our couples book the right location and services for their day because they have the best information.

CAPTION THIS // What is it that you want to feel on your wedding day?

We are guessing that it is not stressed, rushed, unsure, disappointed, frustrated... but, more often than not, this is a common feeling that brides will express after their day. Which is the worst! We want you to be in the moment, happy and worry-free which is why you need a planner.

Trust us, no matter how much you plan out your day, how small it is and how much you think you have dialed in... it is not the same as having someone dedicated to dealing with all the things on your day, trouble-shooting in the moment issues and being responsible for all the things. Because as we all know, the best way to not worry, is not to be the one in charge at all 😉

There is also not enough appreciation for having a professional who is advising you based on experience and expertise to make sure your day is well planned from the start. LOCATION LOCATION / Did you know that the hardest part of planning your elopement wedding is choosing your location and date?

Well, for some it might be the guest count or dealing with family, but as far as actual small wedding planning goes - it is the location decision. Why you ask? Because the location basically dictates everything.

Your location availability will determine your date, it also decides what area you are in, what your reception/dinner plans may be and has a huge impact on the budget. For destination elopements, it has an impact on where you and your guests will be staying and generally the location availability will determine which vendors are available. It is actually the biggest decision you make and we advise not doing it without a planner to walk you though all of it - because once you book it, there is no going back.
