Even the sky started crying with excitement after Dana (she/her) and Shelby's (they/them) proposal!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The drizzle only dampened their cozy sweaters as their spirits remained high! Together they kept hugging and squealing and ohmygosh-ing and most of all LAUGHING! The newly engaged pair adventured all over rocks and took in all the views of the park for some just engaged portraits.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The rainy weather meant they had it all to themselves, and when we broke out the clear umbrellas they only got more silly and adorable, playing in the rain. As I photographed the ring box on a nearby cactus, Shelby quipped that their engagement meant they had gone "From Cacti to Cactus."

Shelby (they/them) planned a romantic proposal for their girlfriend Dana (she/her) at Garden of the Gods.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The two were on vacation to Colorado and Shelby just knew that Dana would fall in love with the massive red rock fins.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They had a ring box custom engraved with the date of their proposal and their last name to be, and we planned out a location away from the busiest areas of the popular park.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was easy to see them coming as Dana's pink hair could probably be seen from space! When Shelby led Dana to the rocky overlook where I was waiting, they were both overcome with emotion.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Shelby got down on their knee and asked Dana to spend the rest of her life with them and she said YES!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Ruth and Will planned a super intimate elopement day amidst a beautiful grove of aspen trees.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was quiet and still and their friends came with their hearts wide open. One by one, their friends made speeches of encouragement, support, and love in the growing darkness.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Everyone cried during the couple’s private vows, and when they were finished we realized it was pitch dark. All ten friends witnessed and signed the marriage license on each other’s backs lit by cell phone flashlights.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

"As the sunshine caught up with us, a dramatic rainbow flash appeared in front of the mist of the falls. I’m a sucker for some pride symbolism, so we milked it! My favorite image from their telluride engagement session has to be the rainbow double exposure. After a bit of butt grabbing and romancing, we headed back down the dirt road. Then at the very end of the session, we stopped at the base of the falls. Together, we braved the spray of the falls as the water thundered against the rocks. We all got soaked! This was a true adventure session as the guys said they’d never been so close to such huge waterfalls. They roared with joy and smooched amongst the rainbows and misty landscape."

"We started just after sunrise by riding the free Gondola to the San Sophia overlook. I don’t think there’s a bigger mountain view in all of Colorado. These two just crack up laughing when they’re together, which makes them oh so easy to photograph. Kaige’s only request was that we feature a lot of green in their backgrounds. Well, check MATE! The early June aspen leaves were the most beautiful shade of green to compliment his leather jacket and Patrick’s crimson button up. Being that we wanted everyone’s hair (and mustache) to look good, we skipped the hike to Bridal Veil falls and chose to focus on the mountain views at this spot instead!

Steph and Kristin's Lake Dillon sunrise session had cold temperatures and warm hearts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Steph found Basecamp Visual via an online photographer’s group when she posted looking for a Colorado photographer. To say Dave and Shanna were STOKED when she reached out was a total understatement. And to say they're still STOKED, even a year later, over their sunrise winter couples session at Lake Dillon, Colorado is an even bigger one.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Steph + Kristin are the real deal. At the time of their winter session last year, they were living states apart – Krin completing her medical residency and Steph running her own photography business by day and also doing the incredibly important work as a therapist… also by day. These two are busy and smart and beautiful and deeply in love and SO incredibly amazing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
