A couple of weeks ago, I went out and found this family of foxes and was fortunate enough that mom decided I was cool.
I spend nearly an hour with them and was able to get this family portrait session taken.

Here are some photos from a recent road trip Anna and I took through Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska and Colorado.

We visited Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park and took the Beartooth Highway on the return trip.

My wife's patience knows no bounds as she allowed me to make many stops and photograph many things.

2024 was quite a good year for my photograph and I am proud with what I was able to capture this year.

During the year I took approximately 9770 photos in total. This does not include any I may have deleted of my camera before downloading them to my computer. Of those, I chose to spend time editing 249 photos. This means I chose to edit approximately 2.55% of the photos I take. I hope to keep improving and one day I would like for this 2.55% to be closer to 30% or better.

Of the 249 photos I have edited, these are my top 10 favorites from the year 2024 (in no particular order).

While in Italy we were able to see some amazing things. Of these, the Dolomites might have been the most incredible part in terms of natural beauty. We were blessed with amazing conditions while there. The fall colors were on full display, the mix of cloud cover and sunshine was perfect and the temperature was excellent.

The country side of Italy was just as beautiful in it's own way. From the vineyards and olive groves, to the hill top towns, as well as the incredible stone pine and cypress trees. The hill top towns were particularly interesting as they have deep history, great views and delicious wines.

The cities had their own charm, from the large cathedrals and their art to street markets and restaurants as well.

As far as I could tell, Italy has a little something for everyone.

Spent a few minutes outside looking at the Aurora this evening.
It wasn't super dramatic or anything like that but it was still quite cool to look at and see all the way here in Missoula.

One of these days I will go to a location where viewing will be significantly better but this evening I would have not been able to drive far enough to get away from light pollution and see the Aurora in it's full beauty. I should also probably study up on how to photograph the Aurora as well.

Anyway, this is probably the best image I got of the Aurora this evening, it's certainly not my best work, but it's cool to see none the less.

Spent the last few days in Grand Teton National Park. I went looking for grizzly bears but was unable to find any. I was able to get some decent shots of other wildlife however.
