Our Story

It Takes a Village Pet Care, located in Barrington, NH, is a sustainably focused company that offers dog walking and vacation pet sitting services for dogs, cats, and other small animals. We are certified by the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, fully insured and bonded, and pet first aid/CPR certified.

At It Takes a Village Pet Care, our Mission is to be a contributing and supporting member of our local community and use sustainable practices to reduce our environmental impact. We are committed to educating our customers as well as encouraging and rewarding them for living sustainably. We embrace the ethics of permaculture – Care of the Earth. Care of People. Return of surplus to Earth and People (Fair Share) – in everything we do and in every business decision we make. We strive to contribute to a healthier environment and society.

Our services are available 24 hours/day, including major holidays (additional charge). We also offer services for senior and special needs pets. We service clients in Barrington, Lee, Durham, Nottingham, Northwood, Strafford, Madbury, Dover, Newmarket, Rochester, Gonic, Somersworth, Rollinsford, and South Berwick. . Traci Bisson, owner of It Takes a Village Pet Care, loves animals and has been around them all her life. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire where she studied wildlife management and business. In college, she worked for two veterinary hospitals, providing pet care and assisting in surgery, as well as at the UNH research facility in Brentwood where they raised deer, coyotes and turkey. She is a 2017 graduate of the Leadership NH program. Learn more about our Owner/Founder.
