Emerging from my editing cave to share the final session from my —and oh my gosh, it was such a sweet one! Where do I even begin with these two?! I first met back in 2017 when she was my intern, and let me just say, watching her grow as a photographer has been amazing—but watching her grow as a person? Even better. From finding her perfect match in Jared, to capturing all their biggest moments—from engagement to wedding, and now maternity photos—it’s been a complete honor. I truly can’t think of two people more ready to crush it as parents than Katie and Jared. Their journey hasn’t been without its bumps and twists, but they’ve handled everything with such grace. And when I found out they were expecting... I legit cried. (And I don’t cry, so that should tell you something!) I’ve seen Katie as an intern, a friend, a wife, and now, I can’t wait to see her step into her newest role: mama!

Ahhh, if you catch me sprinting around like a headless chicken, welcome to FALL—aka crazy season!! Just got back from the retreat (still recovering, TBH), and now I’m flipping right around and heading to Raleigh for a weekend of minis! Whew, what a week! Finally carving out some time to share some more amazing sessions from the ! While my heart is always with those dreamy beach sessions, Downtown Charleston has a special charm of its own that I just can’t resist! So naturally, we had to squeeze in a session there! The humidity showed up right on cue, but we rolled with it and had an absolute blast with this gorgeous family of six! Sure, there were a few tears by the end, but that’s what makes family photography so real—capturing every single emotion! Plus, this is what I love showing my attendees—real, beautiful families, not just picture-perfect models… though, let’s be honest, this family looked pretty perfect!

Our first full session at the was one I’ve been dying to do—a laid-back, casual maternity session, totally free of the usual glitz and glam! A bunch of the attendees were excited for a maternity shoot without little ones running around, just to really focus on nailing down their posing techniques (though we love the chaos kiddos bring!). The wind was a little wild that evening, and we even got a sprinkle of rain at the end, but honestly, it made the whole session even more magical! It was the perfect way to kick off the retreat!

Interrupting my coverage to bring you a session from today that I just *have* to share!! Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about those dreamy sunset family sessions with perfectly coordinated outfits, but there’s something about photographing a family at home, just hanging out and playing like it’s any other day, that lights me up and fills up my artistic heart! We kicked off the with the sweetest in-home newborn session, and it couldn’t have started any better! The big sister was all giggles and snuggles, creating such precious, real moments as she showed off her new little sister! With soft colors and dreamy light pouring in, every corner of that nursery felt like magic, setting the perfect vibe for the rest of the retreat! It was all about those perfectly imperfect moments that make your heart melt and I am completed obsessed with how this session turned out!!

Family photos can be so much more fun when you let go of the need for perfection and let your kids be themselves. When you allow them to explore, laugh, and play, the result is a collection of genuine moments that truly capture your family’s spirit. Trusting me as your photographer means you don’t have to worry about getting everyone to smile perfectly or sit still. I’m here to catch those candid, spontaneous moments that reflect the real joy and connection in your family. MODEL CALL!! As I am preparing for my next month, I am starting to plan the real life family sessions and am needing model families with 2+ kids!! It will be for September 13 & 14 and hoping for families with flexibility on days and times in case of weather! If you want to apply to be a model family, you must:

1. Be willing to be styled by me and purchase outfits
2. Enjoy having your photo taken
3. Let us be creative and do fun and adventurous things when it comes to poses
4. Be okay with a group of photographers taking your photos

If this describes you and your family, shoot me over a DM with your kids ages and a recent family photos of you guys or if you know of anyone who would be a great fit, tag them down below!!

I interrupt all of my wild family sessions to bring you this sweet and intimate maternity session. It’s always sooo special taking maternity photos for a couple expecting their first baby! It captures a unique moment in time, filled with anticipation and love, as they prepare to welcome their little one into the world in just a couple short months. It’s a quiet, precious pause before the whirlwind of sleepless nights and endless diaper changes begins. These photos serve as a cherished keepsake, a reminder of the calm and joy before their lives are forever transformed by the arrival of their newborn and I’m soo happy to be able to take them!

Downtown Charleston truly has my heart when it comes to photo sessions, but let me tell you, there’s a lot of walking involved (and in the summer that means a lot of sweating)! But come fall, the charm of it lies in the variety of fun spots we can explore, each offering a unique backdrop! This is why I haven’t offered downtown Charleston for minis before—there’s just not enough time to capture all the beauty and variety I want for my clients…so if you’re considering a fall full session in downtown Charleston, let’s get it on the calendar! These sessions are some of my favorites because they give us time to relax, allow your kids to warm up to the camera, and let me fully unleash my creative vision and magic is truly made!!

There’s nothing quite like summer nights, especially when they include photographing my sister’s family during their visit from California this past week! She was on the fence about whether to go for beach photos or opt for an inland location but I convinced her that beach photos were the way to go, mainly because inland would leave us drenched in sweat and let’s be honest, not a great look for photos.. I have been photographing my sister since she was pregnant with my oldest niece and I loved being able to photograph them once again!

If you haven’t heard the news, my kids are currently in California with my parents to see and hang out with their cousins for the next *almost* two weeks which means I actually have time to post on Instagram again!! I plan on spending this time working but also, relaxing and recharging because before you know it, fall is going to be here and that’s my busiest time of year!! Crazy to think I’m already planning sessions for that time so here is your friendly reminder, if you are wanting first grabs at a fall date, make sure to contact me asap and let’s get you scheduled!!
