Walking into 2026 like…

After 15 years of photographing families, motherhood, weddings, chaos, love, and everything in between… I feel this pull to step my education way up in 2026!

I’ve never been the gatekeep-y type. I’m an open book. Always have been. If I’ve learned it the hard way, I’m happy to save you the time and share it. And I cannot wait to show you what I’ve been dreaming up for what’s next!!!

These images are from different retreats and content days I’ve hosted this last year, and honestly… I absolutely LOVE doing them. Teaching, creating together, watching photographers gain confidence in real time! It lights me up every single time!

2025, you were SO good to me. Two retreats. Two content days. Several mentorships. And 27 incredible photographers who trusted me with their growth!!! I showed up to a LOT of sessions and somehow landed at 319 total by the end of the year. Wild.

And to every family, couple, and human who trusted me to take your photos and capture your memories… thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! That part never gets old!

So proud. So grateful. So inspired. And honestly just getting started!!!

Big plans brewing for 2026 and I cannot wait to bring you along for what’s next!!

10k followers!!!! It was a goal of mine to hit 10k followers by the end of 2025 and somehow I just did it! I know numbers don’t really matter and I’ve been growing this little business of mine since 2012 but I’m still so dang happy about this milestone! So in honor of hitting 10k I figured it was the perfect time for a little get to know me better moment!

Hi I’m Amber! I’m 36 and have been married to Adam for ten years and I’m a mama to three crazy littles who are 8, 6 and 4! I get to capture the joy and chaos and preserve the memories of motherhood for families and I also teach other photographers how to do the same! Twice a year I host retreats for photographers and they are truly some of my favorite days ever! Info about the next one is coming so soon!

We’ve lived in Charleston for a little over three years and I’ve truly never been happier! I have the best friends and honestly the most friends I’ve ever had and between sessions and my very full social calendar I stay busy in the best way!

I’m 6’1 so that’s where 6ftamber comes from if you’ve ever wondered! I’m also super open about my social anxiety even though no one believes me when I talk about it! The funny thing is it disappears completely the second I’m behind my camera which is probably why I love what I do so much!

My family. I genuinely thought we were past the tears and whining phase but apparently my kids said absolutely not! Yet here we are and honestly… I kind of love it! These photos are chaotic, dramatic, hilarious and perfectly us. Imperfectly perfect is my/our brand and I’m just rolling with it! Big thanks to for coming to take these photos of us and let me do the editing :)

As much as I would love to take credit for how dreamy and joy filled this family session turned out, the truth is all the magic belongs to them! Families who show up ready to let go of expectations, trust me with the flow, and just love on and play with their kids always create the most beautiful moments without even trying! That is where the real magic unfolds and those sessions forever end up being my favorites! And a little side note while we’re here… I have lived here for three years now and beach sessions are still my absolute fave!

Ok real talk. Anyone can snap a photo of your family smiling at an iPhone! It’s cute and it counts but it’s not the whole story! How often are you getting photos of your family playing together though? Laughing and chasing and tickling and doing all the silly things that make your kids who they are! You tossing them in the air and putting them on your shoulders and turning them into an airplane! That’s the good stuff! That’s the real magic!

That’s what I’m here for. To capture memories not just photos..

I wanted to come up with a cute caption, but honestly? Who has time for that right now. I’m deep in busy season mode and about to head to Raleigh for my last round of fall minis there before wrapping them up in CHS this next week! I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. So here’s a photo of me to prove I still exist!

Proof of life… we made it to November!

October really tried to do me dirty with the weather reschedules, but somehow I still squeezed in 79 family sessions between minis, fulls, and thirty-minute sessions… plus four newborns!

November’s still a little wild, but thankfully not October-level chaos. I’m so thankful for this season of life and this business that I love, and also for the fact that my kids are in school all day because truly, that’s the only way I can make all this happen!

Photographers..if you still have little ones at home, please don’t compare your workload to mine! We all have different capacities and thresholds, and mine just happens to include a weird amount of energy!

Here’s to wrapping up the year strong and maybe, just maybe, getting to breathe again in January!

Last night’s shoot was pure magic, AND I filmed the whole thing for one of my upcoming behind the scenes videos that will be raw and uncut so you can see how I guide my families for an entire session..meltdowns, magic and alllll! I seriously cannot wait to share it with you! I’m working on capturing a ton of variety with different locations, family sizes, ages, all the things, so you can see exactly how I navigate every session and situation. It’s gonna be so good! Who is excited?!

Weekend one of Raleigh minis is officially in the books and my heart is so full! Raleigh will forever hold such a special place in my story. I grew my business here for nine years, photographed over 200 weddings, and built the sweetest connections that have truly shaped my career!

This past weekend, five of my families were past wedding couples of mine and I can’t even explain what an honor it is to keep photographing their milestones. To be trusted with documenting love stories as they grow into families is something I will never take lightly.

To all of you who keep coming back year after year, session after session..thank you. I am so, so grateful for you and the way you’ve supported me through every season of this business. Raleigh, you’ll always feel like home!
