Riding down the road.
Retired Man is driving.
I get a notification that UPS has delivered my package from Amazon.

Me: Alexa…thank my driver.

Retired Man: 😲Why would you want Alexa to s***k your driver?

Me: 🧐🧐🤭🤭

I love that I get to do this. I just love it so much, and continue to be amazed at the creativity of God, that He can use a mess like me. ❤️

I just love this ministry of laughter and joy, and getting to be with people like I met last night at Friendship Baptist Church Grenada, MS! What happens in Grenada stays in Grenada. IYKYK🫣🤣😉
Thank you, Pastor Tim, Jodie and team for inviting me to come. There are some things and some people you’ll just never forget. 😂 🤣

Monopoly with the kids. Started the game at 6:30pm. Beat two kids out by 10:15. The other one left, too tired to finish, at 11:30. Here it is 12:20am, and we, the old geeesers, are still hard at it.
Yes sir, we still got it!

Just because I’m unable to go to church today, that has nothing to do with Retired Man being there on time.

And don’t let him tell y’all any different.

When you dream you are a movie star, and wake up to this in the mirror.

You know you stayed up way too late when you’re a woman, but you look in the mirror and see Garth Algar looking back at you. 😬🙄

What I am about to say, I mean with so much love. I do hope it is conveyed and received in the same spirit.

If, in the past four years, you’ve had little joy, peace and hope, but now all of a sudden, it has all been restored, then your trust may be in the wrong person.

If, in these past two days, you find all your joy and peace have been dashed against the rocks, only to be replaced with feelings of fear and hopelessness, please know first of all, I am truly sorry you are hurting. I have been there. I know that pain. But, I want you to know that Jesus offers real joy, peace and hope that are not dependent on current events or life’s circumstances. It’s the same joy, peace and hope that enabled Paul and Silas to sing, even while imprisoned and persecuted for their faith. It’s the same joy, peace and hope that causes persecuted believers in North Korean torture camps to still trust God even today.

I can honestly say, no matter what the election results would have been, my joy, peace, hope AND TRUST would still be in God alone. He is sovereign and is the One Who sets up and deposes Kings (Daniel 2:20-22) and turns their hearts like a river. (Proverbs 21:1) This gives me so much peace.

I am not the same fearful, depressed person I was twenty years ago. Yes, there are times the news can cause that old spirit of fear creep in. Yes, the circumstances of life can sometimes be too much for me to bear. But, when I turn my eyes back to Jesus, His joy, peace and hope are immediately restored. (2 Timothy 1:7, Galatians 5:22-23) I pray that for those of you who are fearful today. I truly want you to have the peace, joy and hope this world cannot take away.❤️

And one more thing before I step down😉, for those who claim to follow Jesus and are celebrating the big win …
When people are hurting, just know, snarkiness is not a becoming response of someone who claims the Name of Jesus. In fact, it can be a turn-off to the gospel. This is the perfect time to share the Good News to those who feel hopeless. Some are even considering self-harm. My heart hurts for them. I pray they see Jesus and genuine love and compassion in those who claim to be His followers. There is nothing wrong with rejoicing and celebrating the win. There is something terribly wrong with being obnoxious and sarcastically rude toward those who are feeling heartbroken and despondent. After all, a broken, contrite heart (but over one’s sin) is the position one must be in before coming to salvation. What a perfect time to show someone who may be lost their need for the Savior, instead of being the catalyst that turns that broken heart to one of anger towards God. I’m not implying that everyone who voted for Harris is lost and headed for Hell. But neither is every Trump supporter, or church attender headed to Heaven. Far from it, actually. I am saying that anyone whose hopes are in a person or any political party so much so, that it greatly affects their joy, peace and hope, for the better or worse, then their trust is certainly misplaced. I’ve seen many who say they love Jesus, but are responding to the tears of the other party with mean-spirited, in-your-face mockery. Yes, Jesus used sarcasm; but it was in response to hypocritical Pharisees and false teachers. His response to the broken-hearted was truth, with love and compassion.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” - Jesus (John 10:10)

Oh how encouraging and refreshing this video of auburn students’ reaction to last night’s results is! (See link in comments.) Young people are waking up, which is not synonymous with “going woke.”

Oh, God, open their eyes and hearts to the truth of Who Jesus is. May their hope and trust be in YOU alone. Raise up bold and courageous warriors for Your Kingdom from this group of students, who will not bend or bow to the dominion of darkness.

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”
Genesis 9:12-17

Did you know God sits on His throne and laughs…He actually laughs, at those who think they can usurp His authority and sovereignty? Oh, the incredible peace there is in knowing that no matter what the future holds in this life, He’s my God and my good, good Father and He has the final say!

This world is not my home!🙌

28/10/2024

For those who will hear Jesus say, “Depart from me, I never knew you,” it will be the saddest thing ever! Good deeds do not save anyone’s soul. A person who is truly saved does their good deeds out of gratitude for their salvation, and confesses and turns from their sin because they never want to do something that brings shame on the One Who gave His all for them. Anyone who is comfortable in their sin, and doesn’t care that their sin hurts the Savior, or causes others to stumble, is not truly saved. It breaks my heart to believe that there are people reading this who are are trusting their good deeds to save them. I post this because I do love you, and pray your hearts will be open to the truth now. And that truth contains bad news and good news.

The bad news is that all have sinned and as such, we cannot have a right relationship with our perfect and holy Creator while in this sinful condition. It is the nature of sin that forever separates from God in the eternal torment of hell. (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23a)

BUT…

The Good News is this:
God provided the escape and the ransom in His Son, Jesus, Who came to this earth and lived a sinless life. But, He willingly died on the cross taking the punishment you deserved upon Himself. (Romans 5:8) Next, He was buried in a borrowed tomb. Then, as evidence that Jesus has power over sin, death and hell, God raised Him to life on the third day. Jesus paid our penalty so we could go free! (Romans 6:23b) This is the Good News! This is the GOSPEL!

No one would get angry at the compassionate doctor who diagnoses the fatal disease and offers a sure cure that has already been paid for in full. But anyone would be right to get angry at the doctor who knew the correct diagnoses and had the cure, but chose to keep silent. That is not love.

And this is why I am making this post. The Bible tells us the diagnosis is sin. The prognosis is eternal death and separation from God. The cure is Jesus, Who because of His great love for us, willingly poured out His blood on that cross, at great cost…His life. The price has been paid. It is yours and mine for the taking. You are so loved!
