Sunflowers
Enjoying some sunnies in my *almost* wedding shoes 🌻 When Max and I got married I knew I wanted shoes I could wear all day and not have my feet hurt. When I saw these beauties on Etsy it was a done deal. I not only was I super comfortable in them for our wedding but loved wearing them day to day. Fast forward a few months, when I sold my first house and we moved up north, I lost my wedding shoes in the move, along with all my other summer shoes (I think they were accidentally sent to goodwill) You know how when you willingly donate something then later you’re looking for that item because you want to wear it now, yea it was that feeling x100. I have thought of these shoes for the last 4 years pretty consistently 😅 It took me a while but I finally was able to find them again in my size and I ordered another pair for myself this summer 🌻 Part of me felt silly because they aren’t my *actual* wedding shoes so why do I need another pair, I have plenty of other shoes. But they bring me so much joy and I reminisce that wonderful day every time I see them 🌻 So moral of the story, just buy the damn shoes 😂 #puremichigan #sunflower #freshflowers

We’re trying out some biodegradable ‘plastic’ this year 🥳
Double tulips
These might look like peonies but they aren’t! These are our double tulip varieties. We still have tickets for our Mother’s Day brunch and blooms available if you want to take some of these beauties home with you! We are also having a u pick Saturday 10-2pm
I always find unexpected beauty in the flowers but this is something I’ve never seen before. This variety is Avant Garde and is typically cream colored with green and buttercream yellow highlights. This is known as a ‘break’ in the tulip and actually cause for concern. While some tulips are bred for variegation (stripes and different colors within one flower) finding such a stark contrast that is uncharacteristic is caused by a virus so she’ll have to be plucked out unfortunately.
Hyacinths in bloom
I just love spring bulbs... if I could afford to plant every inch of the farm with tulip, daffodil and hyacinth bulbs every fall I would. I'm pretty happy with adding 4,000 bulbs to the farm this past year though and the kids are really enjoying it too.
If you want to come see the farm we will be having a u-pick tomorrow 11am-1pm! Daffodils and hyacinths are blooming like crazy and the tulips are starting to color!
Spring Bulbs are back on schedule!
A few weeks ago Michigan had a couple days of warm weather which tricked our bulbs into thinking it was time to bloom! Luckily weather is back to normal and the bulbs have slowed down their growing
