On the evening of June 14th the Kelly Center presented a remembrance art display of Janis Pinkston's body of paintings and other artwork. Janis Pinkston's art has been displayed around the world. She authored children's books. She was an educator. After she passed, her family decided to try to find homes for the hundreds of pieces of art that were left behind. That's what Janis would have wanted. The Janis Pinkston art collection and the Remember the Artist reception was hosted by Jenna Gaasche, an artist and and art educator with the Haverford Township School District. The event was well attended and the artwork appreciated....

Christine Havrilla brought the house down last weekend at the Kelly Center... Folks were often on their feet rocking with the talented guitarist....

Takamine Guitar’s Worldwide Artists, Clayton Picks, and Telefunken Microphones, she was also a featured Artist for American Musical Supply’s Singer/Songwriter Month, nominated for About.com Reader Choice Awards, and awarded the 2010 Garden State Film Festival’s “Best Contemporary Country Song” for “Blinders”. Christine's song "Daffodil" was listed as #40 in the Top 50 Songs by Delaware Artists Since the Dawn of Rock “n” Roll by Delaware Today Magazine (Nov 2021) plus her song “Hail” won the “2019 Homey Awards” for “Best Country/American Song! Michaela Majoun, former DJ from 88.5 WXPN, applauds her "terrific, big sound”, while Philadelphia Magazine states, “She rocks!”

The most wonderful thing about the Kelly Center is that it is a venue that provides for students the opportunity to learn about and experience being on stage - and providing an outlet for their growing skills and talent.... The Kellys even give experience and instruction to the behind-the-scene tech folks who operate the sound and light equipment....
On a recent Friday night the Kelly Center showcased about 20 students from Cardinal O'Hara High School.... The room was jam-packed with adults and other students eager to hear the young people play... The audience was not disappointed in the musical talent they came to hear...

THERE was a lot of young talent at the Kelly Center Saturday night.... It was Student Stage night, and there were four local acts who thrilled those in attendance....

STUDENT STAGE showcases young performers from the area. College, High School, Middle and Elementary School singers and songwriters get an opportunity to perform before a LIVE audience.
Ava Facciolo Ava Facciolo is going into her sophomore year of college at Northeastern University studying Computer Science and Music Technology. She is a singer-songwriter and will be performing some covers along with some original songs. She would like to give a big thank you to her friends and family for their unwavering support and is thrilled to be back at the Kelly Center!
Emme Tilley Emme Tilley, acoustic guitar player of four years covers a variety of folk and pop songs. Notable achievements include singing with the select ensemble group 7th Heaven at events such as the Flyers, Harlem Globetrotters, and an upcoming Phillies game.
Adelle Singson w Virginia Jennings Adelle Singson is 12 years old and attends Haverford Middle School. She is a singer, plays ukelele and will perform Folk/Rock songs. Adelle is a music student of instructor Virginia Jennings.
Sam Briggs and Tom Bak - Sam Briggs attends Delaware County Community College. Sam is on the Autism spectrum and is in a band called Yeti Bee. Sam will sing to music on guitar by his friend Tom Bak.

On April 21st, those at the Kelly Center enjoyed the Patrick Kerssen Trio presenting the sounds and story behind the Sound of Music.....Patrick and his trio presented arrangements from the entirety of the music from the famous 1965 film The Sound of Music in this Sunday afternoon concert/lecture. In addition to the live music, audiences enjoyed learning about the history of the real Von Trapp family, the writing of the songs, and the making of the movie. There was also plenty of opportunity for audience participation.

The Patrick Kerssen Trio is a traditional jazz piano trio that performs throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, and New York, led by pianist Patrick Kerssen. The members have performed at major venues and jazz clubs such as City Winery Philadelphia, Miller Symphony Hall, Mauch Chunk Opera House, Blu Jazz+, Con Alma, the Deer Head Inn, Sellersville Theater, Shanghai Jazz, the COTA Jazz Festival, and more. Collectively, they’ve played thousands of gigs all around the country and beyond. The trio gives educational concert/lectures around the northeast, and have nearly a dozen different programs on offer. They also work with local high schools to give clinics and teach students about jazz improvisation, ensemble playing, and history.

Saturday night, April 20th, those at the Kelly Center were rocking with the Andy Hionides trio. Singing, dancing, and moving to the great sounds and energetic tunes, the enthusiasic audience was really getting into it.... You could just tell that the members of the trio enjoy what they do - and they do it well!!!!!

Anestis “Andy” Hionides is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Springfield, PA. He’s best known for being co-founder, lead vocalist, and lead guitarist for the band Three Fourteen; playing several large venues, casinos, and festivals in the northeast since 2014 including The Brooklyn Bowl (Philadelphia, PA), Ardmore Music Hall (Ardmore, PA), Bourre (Atlantic City, NJ), Brother Jimmy’s Live (New York, NY), 2nd Street Music Festival (Philadelphia, PA), The Queen (Wilmington, DE), Harrah's & Parx Casino, Hard Rock Cafe, and many more! Quite a number of folks came by The Kelly Center on Sunday the 7th of April and enjoyed a cup of liquid refreshment, some snacks, heard some neat acoustic music by Mike Fox and Scott Rodgers, and took a look at what kept Karl Fehenbach busy during the long winter. His pastels primarily focused on a seascape theme, but he managed to get anchored back on terra firma with some landscapes as well. Hanging at the Kelly Center are Karl's recent pastel paintings, and he invited friends, family, and neighbors to a casual reception.

Friday night at the Kelly Center featured Ebb & Flow. Ebb & Flow is a musical duo featuring Steve Galanter on guitars and vocals and Neil Eggert on saxophones, electronic wind instrument and vocals. An appreicative crowd relished in the musician's sound which was lush and beautiful at times, and occasionally edgy and soulful. They deconstructed and expanded on an eclectic mix of rock, pop, and jazz standards and covers spanning decades.

Alice Marie & John O'Callaghan
John O’Callaghan and Alice Marie, both affiliates of Jamison, have graced the stage with numerous Celtic acts. John has performed alongside The Wolfe Tones, The Clancy Brothers, Cherish the Ladies, and Goats Don't Shave.
Alice Marie has been a part of Round Tower and Barleyjuice, sharing performances with acts like Philly's own Blackthorn, Gaelic Storm, Carbon Leaf, and Natalie MacMaster. Together, they will deliver performances ranging from Christy Moore to Bruce Springsteen, and even the Cranberries.

At the Kelly Center on a rainy Saturday evening, March 9th, there was a small though enthusiastic crowd enjoying the beats of The Peace Creeps and Haverford senior Annabelle Soley.

The Peace Creeps is the current musical project featuring former A’s captivating frontman Richard Bush. Richard and his A’s were the darlings of Philly in the ‘70s and early ‘80s and had the hits “After Last Night” and “A Woman’s Got The Power”, which was later recorded by both Clarence Clemons and Jennifer Holliday. They released two albums on Arista Records and toured nationally, but they disbanded due to disputes with their record company. After that Bush had a few other bands and then took a long hiatus to write and record. Finally, along with guitarist John Marchiano, bassist Roy Fisher and drummer Jeff Pancoast, The Peace Creeps were born. Bush and song writing partner, AJay McLaughlin’s clever lyricism, along with their Elvis Costello–like wit, Faces–like looseness and the pop sensibilities of the Beatles are reasons for their appeal.

Annabelle Soley is a high school senior and singer/songwriter from Havertown, PA . Annabelle has performed numerous times at the Kelly Center in the Student Stage program. She has also performed at several Kelly Music Festivals.

Located next to Katz Pharmacy, 4-6 E. Eagle Road Havertown, Kelly Music for Life opened the Kelly Center, a brand new, state-of-the-art performance venue in Haverford Township. The Kelly Center is a safe and comfortable place for teens to enjoy a variety of after-school programming in an alcohol and drug-free setting, and caters to the community at large with a diverse calendar of cultural events that are 21+, including comedy, music, art and more.

Tommy Conwell broke onto the Philadelphia music scene in 1984 when he and his band Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers played JC Dobbs at 3rd and South. The band had a #1 US mainstream rock hit in 1988 with "I'm Not Your Man". The band, consisting of Tommy Conwell (guitar, vocals), Chris Day (guitar) Paul Slivka (bass), Rob Miller (keyboards) and Jim Hannum (drums), was known for its raw, high energy live performances. Conwell quickly rose to the top of the Philly rock and roll food chain by providing long, sweaty, funny, bluesy and often transcendent shows that audiences ate up as something different from what they were being offered elsewhere. In the late eighties and early nineties Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers made the hugely popular independent album Walking on the Water and two albums for Columbia Records: “Rumble” which included I’m Not Your Man” and “If We Never Meet Again”, and “Guitar Trouble” with the single “I’m 17” which featured Bruce Hornsby on piano and organ.The band was featured in Rolling Stone magazine and performed live on The American Music Awards, Late Night with David Letterman, and the Arsenio Hall Show.
In 2019 the Rumblers released “Showboats & Grandstanders”, their first new music in almost thirty years.“Goin’ Back to Philly”, the first single from “Showboats and Grandstanders” was named “Must Hear Song of the Week” on Philadelphia radio giant 88.5 WXPN.
