Professional photographers often specialize in one area and many of them work on a freelance basis or are self-employed. Many publishers, media houses, photographic agencies and corporate houses also employ photographers among their staff. Photographers have to plan the photography shoot, choose location and settings, experiment with different subjects and possess extensive technical knowledge about equipment like cameras, lenses, and software. A keen sense of aesthetics and an eye for detail is indispensable in this profession. Since photography is an ever evolving field, photographers have to keep themselves updated with the new developments in the industry. Photographers are creative artists who hold the power to move their viewers with their pictures which may convey far more than what words can express.
