✨Things can get stressful when your kids are not “cooperating” during photos! I get it! Trying to get the kids to sit still or look directly at me and smile often causes more unhappiness than anything else. ✨Letting them warm up to me, and the whole process, as we go gets the most cooperation out of the kids. Kids also feed off of how you are feeling. If you are tense and generally unhappy about doing photos, they’re going to feel that way too. ✨✨My advice, let go of any preconceived notions of what your kid should or shouldn’t be doing during our session, and let yourself go with the flow and they will follow! I get much more genuine emotions, especially smiles, when everyone is happy and not being put in a situation they are uncomfortable with. ❤Be silly, run around, give big hugs, do airplanes, make poop jokes; nothing is off the table! In the end we almost always get at least one shot of everyone looking at the camera and smiling, but we also get so, so much more that will make these memories that much more meaningful as the years pass.❤
