Merry Christmas All!

Luke 2:11 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Praise the Lord the Savior has come, His name is Jesus! Jesus offers forgiveness of sin and eternal life with God in heaven.

So thankful to have salvation in the one and only maker of the universe. The one who took my shame upon Himself, willingly died for me so that I might not offend God any longer. The prophecies of old all began to unfold with a baby in a manger. Christmas truly is the greatest love story and picture of God's gracious gift to all of mankind.

Praise Him!

These two planned their wedding far from home for a different reason than you might think.

Her mom is very sick and couldn't make a trip out west where they had settled in and called home. So they planned their whole day in Peoria Illinois just for mom! Many friends and family flew into town just for the occasion and they took off several weeks of work to come celebrate in central Illinois. Family was more important to them than anything else. It was truly a special day to remember because all their loved ones could be there. They saw an opportunity to sacrifice what they might have wanted to serve and love someone other than themselves.

Love and good character looks a little like this..

And our ultimate example of love and sacrifice can be found in our Savior Jesus. So thankful we get to worship Him this season and remember His coming to the world as a baby to live a perfect life and sacrifice Himself on the cross so we might be saved through Him and one day live forever with the maker of this world.

How to help your photographer be successful on your wedding day...

1. Communicate! Build a friendship before the wedding day is a sure way to make them feel comfortable and confident with you and all your friends and family.
2. Share any timeline changes at least 2 weeks before the wedding so they can plan accordingly.
3. Have all detail items for the morning out and ready to go when they arrive.
4. Trust your photographers eye, they always have a vision for a photo that alines with the style you booked them for.
5. Go with it! Have fun with the camera, even if you feel like an idea might be silly if you can go with it, it just might turn out better than you imagined.
6. Treat them like a guest on your wedding day, give them a place to rest their feet and enjoy dinner for a few minutes before they head back out to capture your memories. (They work really really hard for you and it's super sweet gesture to give them a courteous thought on your wedding day.
7. If they've done a great job for you let them know it, kind words are always an encouraging way to say thank you especially a review.

🍰✨ Dreaming of a dessert table that leaves your guests in awe? Look no further! The dessert table is one of the highlights of any wedding reception, and it’s the perfect opportunity to showcase your personal style and taste. Imagine a beautifully curated spread filled with decadent treats, each more tempting than the last. From elegant cupcakes adorned with delicate frosting to a stunning multi-tiered wedding cake, the options are endless!

Consider incorporating a theme that reflects your love story. If you both adore traveling, why not include desserts inspired by your favorite destinations? Picture macarons in Parisian pastels, Italian tiramisu, or even tropical fruit tarts that remind you of a beach getaway. Not only does this add a personal touch, but it also delights the palates of your guests! 🍓🍮

Don't forget about presentation! Use beautiful platters, glass jars, and decorative stands to display your treats. Floral arrangements or rustic touches like wooden crates can elevate the look of your table. And of course, a personalized sign that tells your guests to “Please take a treat!” adds a sweet touch to your setup.

Which dessert are you most excited to include? Let us know in the comments! 💖

DID YOU KNOW..
Cutting the cake is a symbol of the couple’s love and commitment to one another and desire to share everything, including food. Pressing down on the knife together symbolizes the couple working together as one to complete the first task as newlyweds. What a fitting way to begin their new lives together.
Traditionally, the act of the husband placing his hand over that of the bride shows his support and promise to take care of her.

In ancient Rome, cakes were made with wheat, a symbol of fertility and prosperity. This is thought to be the reason they were introduced, as an act to represent good luck.
The tradition of wedding cakes themselves originated in medieval England. At the time, guests would typically bring smaller cakes to the wedding reception. The couple would stack these on top of each other and attempt to kiss over the tower. If they were successful in kissing without knocking the tower over, then it was a symbol of good luck for the newlyweds. This good luck usually equated to them being blessed with many children. Taking this a step further it was decided that child-bearing would be best increased by throwing the cake at the bride!! Can you imagine that on your beautiful gown?!

As the tradition evolved, bakers began to create larger and more elaborate cakes for weddings. These cakes were often decorated with intricate designs and icing, and they became a status symbol for the wealthy.

Today wedding cakes are still part of many wedding ceremonies and receptions. It serves as a beautiful centrepiece and a reminder of the couple’s commitment to each other. Whether you choose a traditional tiered cake or a more modern dessert, the wedding cake is a cherished symbol of love and happiness.

What do you plan to have at your reception?
1. Cut the cake
2. Scoop the ice cream
3. Sprinkle the fruit
4. Eat the cookie
5. No dessert at my wedding
6. Something else?! Share your tradition!

Reasons why we love the classic black and white tux...

1. This allows for your color pallet to speak loud and clear. See how the trees and sky fill this photo with color and feelings of joy? Boys pop right off the background.
2. Black and white allows you to get creative with your florals
3. When looking back at your wedding photos in 10-20 years this style will still be so loved.

Want to hear what past brides have said about Abby Jo Photography?

"Abby was simply a joy to work with on our wedding day. I have said since I was in high school (before I even met my husband), that Abby would one day take my wedding photos, even if it meant flying her out to wherever I lived!! Her style is absolutely stunning and exactly what I was looking for in my wedding photos. It is so clear that she is seasoned, professional, and organized, and she so gracefully carried us through the wedding day! You never feel awkward when taking photos with her because she guides you so perfectly through poses/actions to make the photos look candid and effortless! She was so personal with us, and made us feel like her favorite couple to ever photograph, and I just have a feeling this is how she makes all of her couples feel :). We ended up with close to 1,200 BEAUTIFUL wedding photos that we will cherish for the rest of our lives!"
