Colombian superstar nearly had a very different career—as a pro-soccer player. “When I was 16, I quit [soccer] because I went to the studio and fell in love with the music that I was doing” he says. “Since I was a kid, I would perform in front of everybody. I’d sing all of these mariachi songs to my mom, and that was something that my father couldn’t believe...that I was so young but still wanted to do these performances in front of everyone. That’s how they knew that when I grew up, I was going to be a singer or performer.”
