- Have you set your personal and professional goals for the new year? The best goals are those that have you feeling super excited - and maybe even a little nervous.

Keep yourself motivated and inspired by posting your top goals in a place where you’ll see them often such as a bulletin board, refrigerator, mirror, or even your car. This regular reminder of what you are excited about achieving will help guarantee you’ll be successful.

Have fun planning and accomplishing big things in 2025!

Happy holidays on the Winter Solstice and the first official day of winter. This is the shortest day of the year, meaning we can look forward to an increase in daylight starting tomorrow. Now that’s something to celebrate!

We had a blast in Seattle this week checking out venues for the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychologist’s 2027 conference. Thank you to Visit Seattle and the three hotels that hosted us with informative tours, great swag, an abundance of great food, branded cupcakes, and even a VIP hockey experience. And, the holiday décor made our site visit truly magical.

– The Ann Plans team was honored to be part of the 3000 Acts of Kindness event at the Minneapolis Convention Center earlier this month. Thousands of community members who are experiencing homelessness received coats, gloves, hats, mittens, boots and so much more.

Guests had the opportunity to connect with nonprofit agencies providing services in areas such as employment, housing, legal assistance, and mental health as well as receiving services at the event including haircuts, dental screenings, and massage. Thank you to the donors and several hundred volunteers who made so many acts of kindness possible this holiday season. Check out this recap video to get a sense of the impact.

– As 2024 comes to a close and we get ready to ring in a new year, here are some great ways to let your donors know you’re thinking about them:

🔸 Make phone calls to wish donors happy holidays or a happy new year. Even if you end up leaving a lot of voicemail messages, your calls will go a long way in letting your supporters know you appreciate them.

🔸 Send your donors a recap early in 2025 of specific ways they helped make a difference this past year, and share highlights of some of your organization’s exciting plans for the coming months.

🔸 Share your 2025 event date(s) early in the year to give your donors ample time to make plans to attend and support.

Time flies when you’re having fun! It was 17 years ago this month when several friends and colleagues joined us at the AZ Gallery in downtown St. Paul for the Ann Plans launch party.

During this anniversary month of thanksgiving, we want to express our gratitude to the amazing organizations and vendor partners who have helped make the past 17 years so rewarding. We’re proud to be part of such a generous and caring community. 💖

- Here’s an easy action item you can check off in November that will position you well for your events in 2025. Reach out to your preferred vendors to share next year’s event dates and confirm their availability. Your caterer, AV provider, décor company, photographer, video production company, emcee, auctioneer, entertainers, and other vendors will appreciate hearing from you and knowing they’re in your plans for the coming year.

– While memories of your recent event are still fresh, prioritize time to put together a detailed debrief report capturing what went well, opportunities for improvements, and new ideas.

We like to organize the report by categories such as Activities and Entertainment, Fundraising, Marketing, Program, Registration Processes, Venue, and Volunteers. Incorporate feedback from as many sources as possible including guests, committee members, staff, volunteers and vendors. Include a financial summary and the total number of people who attended.

A detailed debrief report with feedback captured from conversations with attendees, debrief meetings and your event survey will serve as a great guide for making your next event even bigger and better.
