Today I adopted a human...
It broke my heart to see him so alone and confused. I suddenly saw his watery eyes as he looked into mine. So I barked with all my might and went after him, following from house to house.
Finally, I got close enough to touch his hand with my nose. The man smiled and I felt his heart begin to warm. I moved closer to his face and felt his tears start to flow. I looked at him and he replied with a beautiful smile.
I jumped into his lap excitedly, promising
that I would be fine, that I would love him forever, and that I would never leave
him. How fortunate that he passed by where I was and that we could meet like
that. I felt lucky too.
So many people have been there, but only he, only he, stopped looked at me. I'm
glad he made a choice and that I was able to save his life.
Today I adopted a human.

This week, we released Dr Joe's long-awaited Morning and Evening Meditations, Volume 2 – two brand-new, 30-minute meditations that can help you practice becoming more conscious in your day.

When you practice the morning meditation, you begin each day with resolve – you commit to staying aware and awake in the day. When you practice the evening meditation, it’s a time to reflect – to take an inventory of the day before you leave it behind.

As Dr Joe offers in the introduction to these new meditations, journaling is a great way to keep track of your progress. You also can share what you’re working on with community members in the comments below.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you 💐 Mothering comes in so many forms. You can mother a child, a pet, the earth, yourself, a sibling, a friend, or even a parent. The thread that binds all types of mothering together is love.

I’m a mother to two boys and one sweet dog. Part of the process of learning to mother them was to learn how to mother myself. This included nourishing my energy, taking time to process my feelings, and showering myself with unconditional love. Mothering myself was more of a re-mothering, meaning it didn’t exactly match the way I was mothered as a child. I had to learn to hold space for who I currently am and what I need at this stage of my life. The more support I give myself to feel stable and secure, the more of that energy I can give to my children.

So, whether you have a child or not, take some time out today to mother, or re-mother, yourself. Give yourself the love you deserve and what you need to feel seen, held, and understood. And if you have children, I hope you enjoy their magical existence today and the love you created while taking a moment for yourself ❤️

"One of the attributes of love, like art, is to bring harmony and order out of chaos, to introduce meaning and affect where before there was none, to give rhythmic variations, highs and lows to a landscape that was previously flat." ~~ Molly Haskell"

Here's a pic of the mowing work I did on my tractor this past year. This was done for a special event here. We are excited as this year's events are shaping up.

"Yesterday I witnessed something that took my breath away. I heard a sound at the window of the cottage. When I looked, a cedar waxwing had hit the window and fallen to the deck. It’s mate stood beside it. It was clear that the fallen bird was dead. I turned away for a moment and when I looked again, it’s mate had hopped over. It lay down beside its partner, their heads touching. It closed its eyes and passed over to Spirit with its mate. The sadness and beauty of the moment was such a privilege to witness. If anyone has ever doubted that animals feel emotion and love, this moment was absolute proof of both. Nature truly has much to teach us."
