Selecting wedding flowers is an important aspect of wedding planning. Here are five things to consider when choosing wedding flowers:

1. Establish a Budget:
Determine how much you are willing to spend on wedding flowers. This will help you narrow down your choices and work within your financial constraints. Be clear about your budget with your florist so they can offer options that align with your financial plan.

2. Consider the Season:
Opt for flowers that are in season during your wedding. Seasonal flowers are usually more readily available, fresher, and more affordable. Additionally, choosing flowers in season can help create a cohesive and harmonious atmosphere with the overall theme of your wedding.

3. Wedding Theme and Colors:
Select flowers that complement the overall theme and color scheme of your wedding. Whether you have a specific color palette or a particular theme in mind, your flowers should enhance the visual aesthetic of the event. Share your wedding colors and theme with your florist so they can suggest flowers that align with your vision.

4. Venue and Style:
Take into account the style and atmosphere of your wedding venue. Different venues may require different types and arrangements of flowers. Whether you're having a casual outdoor wedding or an elegant indoor affair, choose flowers that fit the overall ambiance and setting.

5. Think Beyond Bouquets:
While bridal and bridesmaid bouquets are essential, don't forget about other floral elements such as ceremony arches, aisle decorations, boutonnieres, corsages, and reception centerpieces. Ensure a cohesive look by maintaining consistency in flower choices and colors across various floral elements. This comprehensive approach ensures that every aspect of your wedding is adorned with beautiful flowers.

Remember to start the flower planning process early to ensure availability and to make any necessary adjustments. Clear communication with your florist is key to achieving the desired floral arrangements for your special day.

Asking for cash gifts is the new trend, so don't fret! There are simple ways you can go about doing it.

1. Start a Honeyfund Account. Let's face it, even you are hesitant to give people money if you didn't know where that money was going towards. Starting a HoneyFund account will help give your friends and family an idea of where you'll be using their money. Whether it's towards a honeymoon, a new home, starting a family, let your guests know a snippet of where that money is going and your loved ones will be more willing to give cash gifts!

2. Word of Mouth. Do not underestimate the power of word of mouth. People will begin to ask each other what they're going to buy for you as a wedding gift. Have your close friends and family know that you are looking to start a fund for your new home and it's the best gift that anyone could give them right now. Soon, your whole guestlist will know that this is what you're hoping to receive so their guesswork can be skipped!

3. State it on your website. Your website is a powerful tool to communicate with your guests. Use the page for gifts to thank your guests for their thoughtfulness and write a note about how you welcome a cash gift for your new home together as a couple.

4. Write a poem with your invitation. This sounds cheesy, but it's great! With your RSVPs and Save the Dates, add another card that says something along the lines of
"On this day, our special day
We do not know how to say
We have a house and content too
So presents really wouldn’t do
But if a gift you’d like to bring
Then money would be just the thing."

As for feeling bashful for asking for cash gift, don't worry! The trend is cash gifts now! You will rarely see guests lug a big gift to the wedding and expect YOU to lug it back out. Make it clear you welcome the money gifts and remember to thank everyone for their generousity!
