Get A Clue Bar Crawls

Anyone who has received a nominal charge on their credit card from Get A Clue Adventures please notify your bank immediately. This transaction was not run by our company. It was done by scammers as part of a BIN (bank identification number scam). They find a online merchant who is dormant or not very active and they use their merchant account to run millions of transactions through for very small amounts. They ran over 1.8 million transactions on our merchant account in less than 24 hours. Thankfully most of them were blocked or denied but 7500 transactions were approved. The point of this scam is that these criminals take the card numbers that were approved and use them fraudulently for larger purchases. To prevent this from happening please contact your bank and report the fraud and cancel your card immediately.

Updated Fraud Alert: Get A Clue Bar Crawls is not an active business as we stopped operating due to a slow down in post-covid times. Our website was fraudulently hacked and our merchant account with payment processing was fraudulently used by what appears to be card testers that attempted to run through a great number of transactions with some being successful. It doesn’t appear that this is affecting any of our prior customers but is a hacking scheme where they are trying thousands of random credit card numbers looking for valid accounts through our merchant account.

We have taken numerous steps on our end to stop this and ended up deleting our entire website to stop their access. A fraud investigation is being conducted by our merchant payment processing company, Stripe, at our request. We have also contacted law enforcement to report the fraud and will be following their direction.

If your card has been charged by what appears to be our company then please CONTACT YOUR BANK IMMEDIATELY to report the fraudulent charge and ask what steps you need to take (a hold or cancel your card) that will protect your card information.

We can not contact individuals affected to notify directly because the info provided by the hackers with the transactions is fraudulent and not correct contact info. We are attempting to notify by posting these messages on all our platforms not also compromised.

We are working with Stripe on how to issue refunds but please be patient as we are dealing with thousands of transactions that occurred over a 24 hour period.

This is a true work from home job. All you need is a cellphone and a laptop but you need to be great at texting. You will run bar crawl parties remotely from the convenience of your home that last between 3-4 hours. You will text clues, trivia questions and funny team challenges to the group of Crawlers as they crawl bars while staying engaged with entertaining and funny responses to their content.
