Witnessing the total solar eclipse practically from my own backyard was possibly the most incredible experience of my entire life. I was positive I lost my photographic mind when totality occurred, and while it never once occurred to me to dial my settings down to get a long exposure of the stars during totality, apparently I did manage to get a few other decent pictures before I decided to just enjoy the experience of 3 1/2 minutes spent on what appeared to be a planet straight out of Star Wars with a really wacky black sun. (Thanks for that perfect analogy, .)

I completely understand eclipse chasing now.

I never thought when my son came into the world that someday I’d be photographing his proposal, but I couldn’t be more thrilled to have been there. ❤️ I’m so excited to welcome you to the fam, . What do you do when faced with photographing two very busy boys who aren’t super into having their picture taken? Follow the chaos. Sometimes grown-ups get very stressed trying to get their kids to “behave” for pictures, which only leaves everyone feeling tired and upset and dreading the next year‘s session before this year’s is even over. Instead, I like to keep my camera clicking away as the chaos unfolds, knowing that left to their own devices, I will get some great shots of happy kids amidst the chaos—and that’s exactly what happened here. And this happy chaos is exactly why I look forward to photographing these guys every year. 🥰❤️

I got a little arty at the end of Lindsay’s absolutely stunning Senior shoot. All light effects happened in camera—no special effects needed. Playing with natural light has become my favorite thing over the years.
