Good morning!

The van will arrive this morning. It will take me a couple of hours to organize the attire. Then I will start setting appointments. This weekend is the highest volume of the season. If appointments are set around 2:30-3:30, there will definitely be a wait.

We are also getting extremely close to proms on 4/20 for Newark, Granville, and others. To set an appointment, please text 740.501.8511. The inventory will be out of stock as we approach the prom date. If attire is ordered the week of the prom, freight will also be charged.

CTEC attire is due back on Monday,4/15 between 4:00pm and 5:00pm.
Anyone can return it. I need to prepare the attire to go back to be laundered on Tuesday morning. Late deliveries will require late fees.

It’s Prom Season!

This is the process for tuxedo/suit rentals:

1) Text Laura at 740.501.8511 to set an appointment for selections and measurements.

2) We prefer to order attire 1 month in advance, so you’re more likely to get your first selection.

3) Attire normally arrives in van loads the week of prom.

4) Once the attire arrives, it is checked in, steamed, and appointments are set to try it on.

5) Attire needs to be returned the Monday following the Prom.

6) Late returns may incur additional charges.

We do not have time to answer calls to the boutique, messenger, and email as the season ramps up, so please text Laura and follow this FB page for updates.

We are nearing Prom Season. Please remember to set appointments for prom gown and tuxedo selections.

Tuxedo inventory should be selected early because inventory levels are limited the closer we get to your prom date. Accessories can be changed up to 2 weeks before your prom, providing the attire hasn’t already shipped.

If you are getting married in September or October or need formal attire for an event, please contact us as soon as possible. This is a very busy time with our vendor for menswear and they sometimes limit the inventory due to orders they already have in house. You can look at selections on jimsformalwear.com. Ordering for attire needed for Saturday, 5/6 is complete. We are not able to place anymore orders with our vendor.

CTEC: prom attire was due back to the boutique today.

Prom goers for 4/22, it’s too late to order attire unless you pay air freight and then it will arrive late this week with no ability to order replacements.

The vendor for our tux/suit attire has implemented additional requirements due to demand for attire this year.

Use Build a Tux on Jim’s Formal Wear website. Have a couple of selections made so we insure we can get them attire.

If we are matching a dress, please have a photo of the dress (in very good lighting and not in a plastic bag). We don’t need a photo of her in the dress. We want to see if there are imbellishments, etc. to match the accessories.

Payment for the attire is now due at the time of selection so the order can be placed. Cancellations can not be refunded.

We will only be providing first come, first serve walk-ins to order attire, and also for Prom goers to try on their attire. Please work with us. This is the biggest prom record in history.

CTEC:

There is a van load of attire arriving tomorrow. I won’t know when until the van leaves the distribution center in Indiana. I will text to let you know the attire has arrived and has been steamed. Payment is due when you try it on and take it with you. The closer to the delivery date to the boutique, the better we are in case we need a replacement.

Latest update on prom attire:

The vendor has implemented a cancellation policy within a wear date of 14 days. They are not open 24 hours every day. Due to this policy change, anyone ordering less than 2 weeks plus prior to their prom date will need to pay a deposit of half the attire for the attire to be ordered just in case it’s canceled at the last minute. This will definitely slow down the process, but is necessary due to demand for attire this year. This includes 4.22, which is the highest volume prom date in the Midwest this year.

Kids are out of school Monday, 4/10, due to the Easter Holiday. Open appointments for tux/suit attire will be from 11:00am - 3:00pm on a FCFS basis.

Be prepared for the appointment. Use Build a Tux and have a photo of the dress we are matching if that is the case. Two selections may be necessary because some items are already out of stock for certain dates.

The tux/suit process is as follows:
Come into the boutique to make selections. Attire arrives the week of the prom. You will be notified when it arrives. The attendee then tries the attire on and pays at that time. The tuxedos need to be returned the Monday following the prom.

A Formal Affaire is now an Azazie Ambassador! You can attach yourself to our boutique and get a discount on your dress, as well as, discounts that Azazie offers on their website. Follow the directions on the card and contact me if you have any questions. They have 60+ colors and their prices are great. Their special occasion dresses are very modern and can double as bridesmaid, mother of the bride, etc. They can also be worn multiple times because you won’t look like you are a bridesmaid in them.
