Pioneer's Second Sundays is a monthly open-door event intended to showcase the Center's multidisciplinary mix of art, science and performing arts. In addition to Pioneer Works' Open Studios and existing programs and exhibitions, each Sunday presents musicians drawn from a pool of Brooklyn and international talent. The series was initiated by Founding Program Director Ella Marder in 2013. Emphasis
is on original talent with an eye towards innovation, and includes local composers, brass bands, African groups, pop artists, roots musicians, salsa bands and the occasional rock star. The music should reflect Pioneer Works' mission as a center for innovation and an incubator of new work and new ideas. Musicians with a diversity of backgrounds share a common goal of creating idiosyncratic relevant music - whether its goal is to make you listen, or to make you dance. Clocktower Radio streams artist interviews and the live music during all Second Sunday activities at clocktower.org/listen. Visitors are welcome to visit the station's 3rd floor studio suite at Pioneer Works during the broadcasts. Pioneer Works, Center for Art & Innovation is located at:
159 Pioneer Street (between Imlay & Conover)
Brooklyn, NY 11231 (718) 596-3001
