We had the opportunity to perform this weekend at the ‘Veteran’s Night Dinner’ supporting the Canadian Veteran Service Dog Unit. We were at the far end of the room and attendees mistook us for recorded music! The musical selection was certainly appropriate for the occasion:

•Sentimental Journey, I'll Never Smile Again, Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree (WWII), My Blue Heaven, Summer Samba (Vietnam War), Paint it Black, What a Wonderful World (Vietnam War) and much more!

A Little Introduction ♪

My name is Rebecca Runions; I am the violinist and vocalist of ‘The Grace Notes’. I have been playing violin and engaging in music since before I can remember. While I studied classical music throughout my youth, the area in which I grew up gave me opportunities to perform other genres of music such as fiddle/Celtic, as well as honing my skills in other diversified genres such as jazz, blues, folk, pop and rock. I continued my studies at the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY in which I received my undergraduate degree and my Master’s in the field of education. While playing in the Crane Symphony Orchestra, I had the opportunity to perform with internationally renown professors, conductors, and artists, including various filmed Christmas PBS Specials and our debut performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Today I am an educator and continue to perform regularly in symphony orchestras, festivals, events, soirées, cocktail hours and weddings in a diversified range of genres with collaborative ensembles; happily engaging in the craft I have always known and loved.

Meet our pianist! 🎹

David has performed with names as vast as Ginette Reno, Carol Baker, Steve Piticco, Lee Aaron, Roger Whittaker, Wayne Rostad, Georgette Fry, The Maynard Ferguson Orchestra, Canada Day orchestra and Les Misérables Shana U’ren and even a young Renée Fleming at the Crane school of Music. He has also served as the musical director at the Upper Canada Playhouse as well as other profession groups. He is also an inductee of the American Federation of Musicians. Recently he has worked with NBC Universal Studios on the show ‘Rutherford Falls’ with Matt Mancini and Brent Findley where his contributions led the team to an Emmy Nomination.

2022 Wedding Review ♪

A beautiful day to perform at St Raphael’s Ruins! St Raphael’s was one of the first Roman Catholic Churches in Canada before a fire consumed it in 1970. Fortunately, the outer walls and remarkable masonry were spared and it remains today as a historical landmark and the venue of many quaint events and weddings.
