During the week I’m at correctional facilities across the United States. On weekends I’m at county facilities as well as traditional venues and event locations. Meaning I work 7 days a week 365 days a year. I answer correspondence early in the morning or very late at night.

Last night after contacting someone who had returned my contract without satisfying the booking deposit, an argument ensued with someone who believed for whatever reason that she didn’t have to follow my booking procedures.

I limit new clients to only 10 per month as my availability is critical and this role requires travel. The first 10 clients each and every month who return their contracts AND pay their booking deposit close out my month. Why? Because at any given time I have existing clients in various stages of the paperwork process that I must factor into my calendar.

From this point forward, any contracts returned without satisfying the booking requirements will be disposed of and a new contract will be issued.

I do not commit to anyone who does not commit to me. Read your 3 page contract. My terms are non negotiable.

“Why do you provide rings to your clients marrying an inmate, bring them gifts and treat them to lunch but don’t for traditional clients?”

Here we go again… listen my clients marrying an inmate are single income households. They are pulling that wagon ALONE. Let’s go over what I’ve been hired AND paid to do SHALL WE???

If you hired me to perform a ceremony, you paid me to travel to that location, perform a ceremony, sign and file the license then leave. What you didn’t hire and pay me to do was ALL of the other things I do at MY OWN EXPENSE! That’s right from loaned inventory to free photos, I am ALREADY doing things that no one else will.

These consistent comparisons from one group of clients regarding another group of clients is getting on my last nerve. It’s wedding season. Find somebody else to help you if what I’m doing at my own expense isn’t enough for you!

Moving on, I created Texas Twins Events to give others the wedding I never had. I’ve gone to great expense to create an inventory solely so my clients have the flowers and the photos and experience that I didn’t. Nobody else would!

Now what I do for my clients marrying an inmate is unique in that I’m often the ONLY person celebrating with them and for them which is WHY I do things for them that I don’t do for traditional clients.

I work WITH and FOR people I enjoy spending time with. I don’t HAVE to work so I’m certainly not going to spend months or even a year working with a problem client. I focus on clients worthy of my time, commitment and calendar.

I know this is hard to explain but County Facilities are on my back burner meaning that State, Federal, ICE & Traditional Clients take precedence on my calendar. Effectively I cannot be everywhere and don’t pretend that I can. I’m honest. Blunt. Candid & straightforward. I must prioritize & focus my time & attention to CURRENT CLIENTS.

With this being said, when my sites get an inquiry regarding County, I search my calendar to see when I’m scheduled at State, Federal, ICE or a venue near the County Facility. I then check the visitation schedule. I then factor my stack for the day. Do I have time to address a County Unit? Do the visitation hours fit into my stack? Distance from existing Units? Do they have a license? So you see County is a challenge for a number of reasons AND they don’t have a law library making obtaining a license challenging.

No one fully understands my schedule or the amount of time studying maps & locations while factoring time for each client. Do I have time to treat them to lunch? Bridal photos? Time is the one thing I cannot BUY or REPLACE so effectively I focus my time AKA my calendar on EXISTING clients first. Wendy M Wortham
