If you are on my calendar, my travel schedule and other commitments to clients have been worked around you.

Meaning I’ve orchestrated my life around your event and the location. I’ve committed my time, my travel and my calendar to you.

Contacting me at the 11th hour to make ANY changes to a confirmed date IS immediate grounds for termination of your contract and client status.

When I confirm a date with a prison, many people are involved. You are asked if you can commit to that date. I don’t just pull dates out of a hat around here.

Okay let’s get into it..

I’m not a game player. Time is critical to me and priceless. Therefore I don’t waste valuable time on people unworthy of my time.

When my office mails you a contract, the TERMS are CLEARLY outlined. Stop returning contracts WITHOUT satisfying the booking deposit.

My office will RETURN the contract to you with the deposit portion highlighted from this point forward. Read your contract!

You have 7 days from the event date to PAY YOUR balance in FULL.

Failure to do so WILL result in my PERSONALLY notifying you THEN canceling your event on my calendar.

Further in order to reschedule, you will be REQUIRED to pay in FULL as well as be charged a $75 rescheduling fee for taking a spot on my calendar without following the terms of my contract and satisfying your balance 7 days PRIOR to the EVENT DATE.

I will NOT under ANY circumstances make an exception. Pay me don’t play me.

My role REQUIRES travel. Travel INCURS both TIME and EXPENSES.

During the week I’m at correctional facilities across the United States. On weekends I’m at county facilities as well as traditional venues and event locations. Meaning I work 7 days a week 365 days a year. I answer correspondence early in the morning or very late at night.

Page 4 of your contract specifically addresses both tardiness AND that my booking fee is non refundable. I spend a lot of time corresponding with clients and potential clients 7 days a week 365 days a year. I do not take days off. My calendar is limited to ensure my availability for a reason, I HAVE to TRAVEL I have to HAVE availability to travel.

I do NOT overburden my schedule INTENTIONALLY and with INTENT. Meaning if I’m holding a spot on my calebdar for you it literally prevents me from adding another client.

If you are marrying an inmate, I also go to the time, trouble and expense to send you either a ring or tennis bracelet so if you are NOT SERIOUS about marrying an inmate please do not go through a booking process with me if you aren’t committed. My calendar is committed.

Last night after contacting someone who had returned my contract without satisfying the booking deposit, an argument ensued with someone who believed for whatever reason that she didn’t have to follow my booking procedures.

I limit new clients to only 10 per month as my availability is critical and this role requires travel. The first 10 clients each and every month who return their contracts AND pay their booking deposit close out my month. Why? Because at any given time I have existing clients in various stages of the paperwork process that I must factor into my calendar.

From this point forward, any contracts returned without satisfying the booking requirements will be disposed of and a new contract will be issued.

I do not commit to anyone who does not commit to me. Read your 3 page contract. My terms are non negotiable.

“Why do you provide rings to your clients marrying an inmate, bring them gifts and treat them to lunch but don’t for traditional clients?”

Here we go again… listen my clients marrying an inmate are single income households. They are pulling that wagon ALONE. Let’s go over what I’ve been hired AND paid to do SHALL WE???

If you hired me to perform a ceremony, you paid me to travel to that location, perform a ceremony, sign and file the license then leave. What you didn’t hire and pay me to do was ALL of the other things I do at MY OWN EXPENSE! That’s right from loaned inventory to free photos, I am ALREADY doing things that no one else will.

These consistent comparisons from one group of clients regarding another group of clients is getting on my last nerve. It’s wedding season. Find somebody else to help you if what I’m doing at my own expense isn’t enough for you!

Moving on, I created Texas Twins Events to give others the wedding I never had. I’ve gone to great expense to create an inventory solely so my clients have the flowers and the photos and experience that I didn’t. Nobody else would!

Now what I do for my clients marrying an inmate is unique in that I’m often the ONLY person celebrating with them and for them which is WHY I do things for them that I don’t do for traditional clients.

I work WITH and FOR people I enjoy spending time with. I don’t HAVE to work so I’m certainly not going to spend months or even a year working with a problem client. I focus on clients worthy of my time, commitment and calendar.

I know this is hard to explain but County Facilities are on my back burner meaning that State, Federal, ICE & Traditional Clients take precedence on my calendar. Effectively I cannot be everywhere and don’t pretend that I can. I’m honest. Blunt. Candid & straightforward. I must prioritize & focus my time & attention to CURRENT CLIENTS.

With this being said, when my sites get an inquiry regarding County, I search my calendar to see when I’m scheduled at State, Federal, ICE or a venue near the County Facility. I then check the visitation schedule. I then factor my stack for the day. Do I have time to address a County Unit? Do the visitation hours fit into my stack? Distance from existing Units? Do they have a license? So you see County is a challenge for a number of reasons AND they don’t have a law library making obtaining a license challenging.

No one fully understands my schedule or the amount of time studying maps & locations while factoring time for each client. Do I have time to treat them to lunch? Bridal photos? Time is the one thing I cannot BUY or REPLACE so effectively I focus my time AKA my calendar on EXISTING clients first. Wendy M Wortham

Read your contracts. Tardiness is addressed in all of my contracts for a reason. I honored my obligation by traveling to a Unit or venue and have other clients that warrant my time and attention.

Tardiness is addressed in great detail in 3 page contracts for traditional bookings and 5 page contracts for correctional facilities and I’m damn serious about my intolerance for this consistent outrageous behavior that wreaks havoc on my entire day & the unit or venues staff as well.

Correctional facilities will “call it” after 30 minutes and you will also forfeit my fee as I honored my time, travel & commitment to your event.

You will be forced to rebook services or find someone else to help you. I couldn’t be more serious about this consistent and flagrant behavior.

“How much do you travel?” Pretty much daily and thousands of miles a week. My role requires travel. I drive, fly and stay in hotels weekly. This isn’t a job that can be done from home. It’s a commitment of being there wherever there might be.

Ladies & Gentleman I’m traveling every weekend to other states and locations for traditional events or county. During the week I try to check DM’s and emails as well as voice mails and texts between clients every few hours, early in the morning or late at night. Phone is the best way to reach me but I have so many voice messages that I ask clients to follow up a voice mail with a text as I will frequently check texts first then try to work my way through additional correspondence. Daily I’m contacted by people saying “I want to do what you do” without having any idea of what I do entails. You see these folks see the RESULTS they fail to see or even bother to look for the EFFORTS, TENURE, DEDICATION or TENACITY.

After reviewing not 2 but 6 emails and DM’s this morning with pretty much the same scenario, I’ve decided to lay my path right on the table here. Experience matters…

About 11 years ago I dissolved Defending Debt Lawsuits Consultants LLC. I was sick of courtrooms and had been scheduled for a thyroidectomy and lumpectomy. I was at a turning point in my life. I also decided to sell the oversize custom home in Lakeside that my husband and I had to buy to close the Estates of Lakeside in 2007 when the banks called the paper at the beginning of the real estate crash of 2007-08.

For the record I never wanted to live in Lakeside however I didn’t have a choice so for years until the market creeped back up we lived at the Lakeside estate. I created Texas Twins Treasures to sell my own personal property in 2009 to save the Lakeside estate.

You see my husband has never worked outside of building and development and didn’t know how to do anything else which resulted in him being unemployed for nearly 3 years UNTIL the Parker County Airport came along. The airport was developed and now houses fly in housing. It was in fact a huge success.

At Baylor Hospital waiting on my first of many surgeries I was at a turning point in my life. I’d been a print, commercial and clothing model for nearly 30 years. I had developed a successful lawsuit company I was now sick of and now I literally was sick myself. Where could I find joy? Where would my passion be?

Looking at Cindy and Matthew I decided… I had NEVER had a wedding where I was celebrated or even felt celebrated. I would create a wedding company that would do for our clients everything no one had done for me. Cindy and I decided to call it Texas Twins Events.

I began creating a massive inventory of bouquets and more so my clients wouldn’t have to buy something to use only once and offered complimentary photos. Within hours of our website going live, Discovery was calling me while at my checkup wanting me to do a show because “I had created a people over profit based business. Something no one had ever done in this industry.” I was still recovering and not interested.

In 2014 a client had no money but wanted to repay us. She bartered an antique wagon. In 2015 Cindy and I merged Texas Twins Treasures and Texas Twins Events to create The Pawning Planners and filmed a television pilot. We hated it and we own the film.

Along the way people came to me that couldn’t find an LBGT friendly vendor or someone to marry them in a correctional facility. I had a high background clearance from working at Lockheed Martin in security in my late 20’s & early 30’s so I fit perfectly into this role due to my security clearance and I have always welcomed diversity.

What you need to know is what I’ve done over all of these years took money. It took time. I’ve been through so many vehicles over the years I cannot even keep track of the number. I’ve spent so much time studying family law in every state within the U.S. including policy I can’t put a number on it. I’ve spent so much money adding to my inventory year after year after year that only my CPA could give you an accurate figure. The amount of money I spend on client gifts, rings, photo editing and postage each and every month would astound you BUT I can afford to do what I do. I knew going in that any business would be an investment and that no business is successful overnight.

So before you contact me expecting me to mentor or train you, know that if you are truly passionate about something you’re going to need to educate yourself. You’re going to need to do more and be more for your clients to find success.

I work 7 days a week. I traded in 8 hours a day in courtrooms for 12-16 hours a day in the free world and in prisons so please stop assuming that what I do is easy or didn’t require a lot of money, time and travel. The reality is that my success came because I spent years earning it…

Okay three times today people I do NOT have a contract with have contacted me regarding dates. Please READ your contract. My booking procedures are clear. I limit any new clients to only 10 per month because at any given time I have other booked clients at various stages in the paperwork process.

There is only one of me. Meaning I cannot be everywhere AND I do not overextend myself with intention and forethought to ensure my availability.

I honor my obligations to clients who have strictly adhered to my booking requirements. My contracts require a deposit. If you are holding your contract or returning it without satisfying the deposit requirement, you are not a client.

I send out 5 page contracts Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Booked clients are created on a first come first book basis. Meaning if you’ve held your contract you are NOT a booked client and do NOT have a client file.

Instead your contract is moved to the next month if 10 clients have already returned their contracts and paid their deposit as required to book services.

My role REQUIRES travel and availability. I cannot and will not line jump anyone onto my books as a matter of priority to other clients. Further I will not confirm a date with a correctional facility or venue for anyone who isn’t a client. Please and I cannot stress this enough, read AND return your contracts and satisfy the required deposit as stated on page 1.

Weekends are booked through the holidays and into 2023. My son or his wife are available to conduct your ceremony but my schedule is and has been full for November & December for some time now.

“I’ve been following you for awhile now and was wondering how you decided to start such a unique business and made it work?” I get a lot of questions. First to make any business endeavor work you need education, experience, tenacity, perseverance and the income to commit yourself to something that will lose money for a few years. Nobody is an overnight success and I wasn’t either.

My role requires both time and travel. I also do things for my clients marrying an inmate that I don’t do for other clients. Why? They are single income households. All of our clients can borrow my exclusive inventory of bouquets, tiaras, veils, fascinators, furs and more but only my clients marrying an inmate are gifted a wedding ring, bridal or groom gifts and lunch on me.

All clients also receive complimentary (free photos) as a courtesy too. We do what no one else will for all of our clients because I created Texas Twins Events to give our clients the event I never had myself.

If you’re thinking or planning to start a business, the best advice I can give to you is to educate yourself and exceed your clients expectations… EXPERIENCE MATTERS…

“How much do you travel a week?” 3-6k miles. “What is stacking?” I stack clients at Units and other Units on the same day. I call this a “stack & rack.” All clients get a personal ceremony & all of the extras we offer no one else does to a client marrying an inmate from a complimentary ring to gifts on wedding day & complimentary photos with our exclusive inventory & lunch on us if there’s time. What we do is make our clients wedding day a joyous celebration of fun, memories and friendship.

Good afternoon, mail went out from Tarrant County yesterday. Our stepsister, Tammy is here from CA for the weekend to celebrate her birthday and visit her son and daughter in law so Cindy and I have been bouncing in and out of DFW all week.

Saturday and Sunday- State Hopping then back to DFW Tuesday to pick up Leigh Ann & Maddie who are flying in. Maddie had to wait until she finishes her antibiotics to fly after dental surgery this week. She’s doing much better and excited her dad is coming home from duty in Guam tomorrow.
