Hey y’all it’s getting to that time of the year again to spend time with family and friends…so with that being said we are planning to do just that at the end of this year December 20th 2024. We are sad and happy to announce that we (The Reel Pit Crew) will be retiring to do bigger and better things! We are sad to say goodbye but do not regret all the people we have met along the way and all the places and events we have been to. Y’all have been great and this decision did not come lightly as it is not decision based on “lack” of anything in terms of money or support even in this economy we understand, times are hard, but trust us we couldn’t have been more grateful or blessed for the income, for our fan base, and our supporters that never missed a day or event at our truck to say “HI”, checking in with us, and coming by just to catch up while getting some of “The best BBQ around”. We also could not have been more fortunate for the support we had that made it through COVID times and of course many, many, many Hurricane seasons this is but a matter of growing up and growing older and having to think about our health. after 20+ years of smoking meats at 16-18+ hours a cook well it takes a toll on your lungs. So, for those of you wondering what is to become of the Reel Pit Crew below is our continuation stories and information as what’s to become of the Trailer and the Reel Pit Crew…

December 20th we’ll be our last day/week in the food truck we’re hoping to either sell the business and keep the legacy alive by handing over the keys to a new pit master or we will look into selling trailer by itself as just the trailer for some one else to use with out the name. either way we’ll keep you posted on the trailer itself. Buddy (Food truck owner, Pit master, Cashier on truck, and prep cook) after 20+ years at the pit Buddy will be retiring and relaxing. With the extra time he hopes to start traveling and enjoying his second retirement to the fullest on an occasion you’ll see him working part time with some food truck friends keeping in touch and keeping active in the food truck scene.
Grace (Daughter of Buddy, Jr Pit Master, cook on trailer, and “secretary”): She will be finishing her college degree shortly after we close the business down. Grace gives a BIG thank you to y’all that helped support her and helping put her through college with working here at Reel Pit Bar-B-Que for 10+ Years, she will be joining the sheriff's department in Crime scene work shortly after finishing her college degree.
Gary: (Business partner, Secondary Pit master, catering coordinator, and book keeper) Gary as some of you know works with the sheriffs department and will continue working with the Sheriff department at the brevard Courts along with expanding his adventures further in the department later into the new year. him, his son, and his wife are still running the kayaking business as of now and will be taking on small catering gigs into the new year for the department.
