We always look forward to decorating the President's House after Thanksgiving. It's three days of non-stop work, but we enjoy being creative and collaborating on ideas. Working with lots of fresh greenery and foliage cut from trees on campus makes it extra amazing. The Clements family is lovely and gracious, as well as all the faculty and staff, students, and interns who help us throughout the process. It puts us in the Christmas spirit and feels like a kick-off to the season. Lots of pictures to come, but tonight, I'm going to put on slippers and sit in front of the fire at home with a hot toddy, and be thankful for the opportunity to have a job that I enjoy, and friends who show up for me.

Operation "How many events can we squeeze into one day" is complete. The initiation of son in law number #2 was a success. He watered the centerpieces, carried the heavy stuff, drove the flower van like their were children in the back without carseats, and when the sliding door FELL OFF, YES. LITERALLY FELL OFF at the stadium, he was able to get it back on the track enough for us to continue on throughout the day ( thank God for bungee cords). Thankful for my helpers, Tamara, Jen, Nick, and Drew. The 12 hour days of working while also freezing are over for this week with another story to add to the collection of flower adventures.

Botanical Christmas Ornaments coming soon...
Home grown, pressed, and arranged by hand. They are signed, sealed, and ready for you to date and personalize on the back, and tied with a silk ribbon. There's nothing sweeter than a gift made by hand, and local flowers make it even better.
They make great gifts, but how amazing would they be on a twiggy tree with dried hydrangeas and dehydrated fruit?? 😍🌲
Dropping at just in time for their Open House! Let's go!

The saddest time of the year is when local dahlia season is over. First frost came all little earlier than our flower farmers had hoped, but it's par for the course. I was fortunate to get these from the last crop at . Sneaking in some pink to mix with the orange and rust gives me a little spark of unexpected autumnal joy🍂🌸🍁

A little different spin on a soft fall color palette for a sweet October wedding. Lynette mums, Crispedia, Quicksand Roses, Silver Dollar eucalyptus. The traditional white bridal bouquet got a few pops of beige to bring it all together for Emily today.

"Juicy" like Starburst eye-candy! These dahlias and zinnias from are mouth-wateringly delicious. Here's a fun tidbit for my flower nerds, the little purple ball flowers that everyone asks about are called "gomphrena" by my flower farmer friends and "globe amaranth" by some of my florist friends. Both are kind of fun to say. (I see you trying to figure out pronunciation 🤓). Enjoy, Clemson Women's Club!

It's been a minute or two since I've created pressed flower art. 15 years ago, I discovered that it was incredibly therapeutic. I sat for hours, sometimes in pajamas, creating little masterpieces during a particularly chaotic and emotionally draining time of life. That was the first time I realized the meaning of "Flower Power." It's a real thing. Like a natural antidepressant, creativity is cathartic. These flowers were grown in my yard, pressed the old fashioned way, and mounted on handmade paper. You can find them for sale . If you haven't been there, you are in for a treat!
