The realms of nerdom, gnomes, and Okies are well represented, and new subjects are constantly explored. She makes tiny things out of polymer clay, an oven-bake multicolored clay, adding details with paint and pastels. Find the Tiny Things at shows and Tulsa, and small businesses like Whitty Books and Buck Atoms.

These little doofy looking marsupials are called Quokkas. They’re a macropod (a classification I knew nothing about until now that includes kangaroos), with big ol jumpin’ legs, plant eating’ teeth and tummies, and baby storing pouches. I chose these mostly nocturnal cuties for this series because of how happy they look carrying their babies and generally existing.

Did you wonder why I was asking what your favorite creations or series were in the past few years? This is why! I designed a new shirt and I wanted to include them along with my personal favorites. How many do you recognize? Even the Mini Museum made it on there! Shirts are officially available for preorder on the site and will ship at the end of September!

ID: teal blue shirt with white Tiny Things by Bowen design, second image is the design itself featuring 15 hand-drawn items including tiny food (pop tart, croissant, cosmic brownie, and sushi) creatures, a cardboard box, a sass-squatch, and a mushroom house. End description.

These little guys deserve for us to say the “O” in their name! Our little opposable thumbed, tick eating, baby carrying friends are distinctly different from their “O” lacking Australian namesakes. Here are a couple opossum baby facts for you: they’re called joeys and when they’re born they’re the size of a bee 🤯, they crawl into their mom’s pouch and nurse for a little over two months before they’ve developed enough come back out! Shortly after they’re too big to fit in the pouch and that’s when you see them being carried on her back. I know many disagree but I think the babies are adorable!

ID: polymer clay opossum with a baby on her back. Miniature is a magnet with detailed texture and shaded with pastel.

Picking up where I left off, being out of practice of posting regularly..oops. The next in my parent/baby animal series that I made exclusively for my Patreon supporters before leave-we have the seahorse daddy and a baby. I think most of us know about him keeping the sometimes hundreds of babies incubating in his brood pouch, so I have a different fun fact for you. They’re actually terrible swimmers! Their tiny fins and funny shapes do not lend themselves well to agility and they tend to ride the currents more than anything, using their tails to hold on to things along the way, sometimes each other.
I appreciate this fact extra now as our own daddy seahorse has gone back to work while the baby and I ride the currents of nap times, tummy times, and grabbing onto little bits of work when I can get them done. Any tips out there from other creative work from home mommas? I’ll take them!!

ID: yellow and orange polymer, clay seahorses, one big holding on to seaweed and one small holding onto the other. Detailed with chalk pastel shading.

We’re two months into having a little human Tiny Thing around the house and Wes is headed back to work. So now it’s time for Adeline and I to learn what our flow is going to be like at home. Technically I saved up enough to give myself another month without income but I think in the interest of a slow start and my mental health (I feel pretty unstimulated not working) I’m going to start getting back into the studio just a bit this next week.
I still have 15 sticker packs available on my site and would love to sell them all over the next month before they ship, so if you were considering it, snag one soon!

Huge thanks to .cr for the amazing photo shoot of our little family! I highly recommend working with Becca and I think you should check out the concept shoots she’s offering on her page!

This swan and her baby were many people’s favorite of the series. Trumpeter swans are our largest native water fowl and heaviest flying bird. Baby swans are called swanlings or cygnets, male swans are called cobs, and females are called pens. Finally, fun fact about me…due to being bit on the belly by a goose as a child I’ve had a pretty big fear of birds, particularly geese and swans that I’ve only recently been getting over thanks to birding! (Don’t get me wrong….I’d still run away from either of those if they hissed at me). Stay tuned for more of the series and have a good day!

So as to convince the internet gods that I still exist despite my leave, prepare to see the collection of baby animal parent duos I made for my Patrons last quarter! Each post will come with a fun fact about the animal friend! 💕 To start us off we have a pair of Tamandua cuties! They’re a type of anteater from Central and South America and their tongues can extend up to 16 inches long and they have no teeth!

We welcomed the ultimate Tiny creation, Adeline Ray Bowen-Rose into the world on Friday, June 21st! She came just before noon, 5 days past her due date,9 and weighed 8lbs 5oz.
While I did have to be induced due to gestational hypertension, I succeeded in my goal of avoiding an epidural and having a healthy happy baby! Happy to share more birth experience details with friends who want to hear.
This newborn photo is the only one you’ll see of her face online for a long time to come, as we’ll let her build her own internet presence when she’s ready….so soak in her cuteness now! Our first week at home was overall quite positive and we appear to have an amiable baby for the time being!

If you’d like to support us during my maternity leave, I still have some sticker pack preorders available! I’ll be off till mid August enjoying our expanded family ❤️.

ID: 1-Sarah and Wes gaze in loving disbelief at the tiny pink close-eyed baby wrapped in a blanket on Sarah’s chest in the hospital bed. 2- smiling Sarah snuggles a sweet baby clad in a narwhal outfit while standing in front of thier garden. 3- Sarah enjoys a post labor sushi feast in the hospital bed. Yesterday’s workshop was crazy busy!! These are actually the only two photos I got of the whole thing, and one was after the fact. -If you made stuff, tag me in a pic so I can share more!!- We had 29 crafters who made close to 200 items in the 3 hour span. 🤯 More participants and more items than I had anticipated by far! So much so that I really got bogged down with baking and assembling and sweating as more and more came in, so my friend who came to craft became my assistant to help me catch up (thanks )! Thanks so much to everyone who came, many familiar and some brand new, and thanks for your patience as we got everything put together for you at the end! Shout out to the ambitious and successful friends who made these earrings-hope your visit to Twilight country is as great as your creations! And shout out to my little fingies for working as hard as they have all the way up to my maternity leave. This was my last in-person event before the baby Tiny, due in two weeks!! Last chance to grab some Tiny Things or a DIY clay kit will be Wednesday in a flash S4LE in the insta stories!!

Okay, here we go with an official introduction to me, the maker behind this page for those of you who are newer (thanks for being here!). My name is Sarah Bowen, I’m a 34 year old artist and educator in Tulsa Oklahoma. I’ve been playing with polymer clay for over 10 years, and selling my work for almost exactly 10. When I started I was an ASL interpreter for the public school system doing art on the side, but in 2017 I took this gig full time! I am passionate about bringing whimsy and joy to the world through tiny art, and helping others find their creativity through polymer clay and other mediums. I love supporting my community by offering encouragement to budding creatives through patronage and mentorship- I believe in holding the gate open, so if you ever need anything don’t be afraid to ask! I’ll share two more parts to this series next week, feel free to leave a comment if you’re curious about any aspect of my journey as an artist or small business!

One of my favorite stories during the Tiny Tulsa Mini Museum & Market event was this little girl and the tiny basket. I’ve had these at my booth for a while, just to shop my wares. She came by one of the few times I was actually manning my own booth and asked if they were to shop the whole event. I told her it was just for my table but she hung around holding it and working up to asking me if she could use it for the whole tiny event. So of course I told her she could, and she went about her business while I went over to run the museum. Some time later my booth helper brought her up to me and said she was asking about buying the basket. She offered me her last three shopping dollars and I couldn’t say no. 🥹 She was so excited she asked if she could hug me 🥲 it made my day!

Here’s my now anual grid post about life outside of Tinies and in the gym with for the competition! Being a part of this gym community has been hugely beneficial to my body and mind over the last year and half, and I’m super proud that pregnancy hasn’t stopped me from lifting! At 31 weeks I lifted 281lbs as a PR over the weekend AND got to flex my crafting muscles for another favorite medium-costumes! My Krang (from the ) costume won first in the costume contest and made up for me not having a baby belly for Halloween. The third pic from is basically my maternity photoshoot, enjoy 😜!

Description: Sarah stands in a wide stance over a loaded barbell wearing a pink lifting belt and a silly costume that includes a brain monster on her baby belly, red swim bottoms, “metal” aka duck tape-suspenders, shoulder pads, glasses and antenna. Second pic features her partner rocking a Leonardo turtle suit, and third has a fun filter while Sarah lovingly holds her baby brain belly. Final pic shows original inspiration 90s cartoon character. Breaking News: online tour coming tomorrow! My original resolve upon making the Mini Museum was that the interior never be shown online. However, as I geared up for the Tiny Tulsa event, and reels about it got noticed all over the world, the outcry for distanced admittance became too strong to ignore. So…for those of you who aren’t here in Tulsa or who didn’t get to make it out for this curated gallery…online viewing is coming!! Tomorrow you’ll have a chance to see inside and even (in the US) a chance to purchase the pieces still for sale in this collection. Check the stories today to see what has sold already as you wait for the reveal!

Huge thanks to the over 400 individuals of all ages that came out over the weekend to see!! Pictured is featured artist and her little during their visit! ❤️

Second place is “Origami Party” by Awsten Apfelbuncher who is walking away with a $200 party package from . And tied for third place, each receiving a gift card from (one courtesy of ), are “June” by Lilly Patterson and “Untitled” by Sam Mullins. Thanks to Edison Art teachers Julie Thomas and Beth Howard for encouraging their students to participate and giving them access to a wide variety of mediums to do so!

The first night of the Tiny Tulsa- Mini Museum & Marker was overwhelmingly awesome! We had over 500 people come out to shop the vendors, check out the museum and high school gallery, and hang out with the artists! Luckily for you, we’ve got another day of it!! Come out to the Flyloft today from 11-5 to experience this very limited-time gallery of 48 Oklahoma artists. And remember, the first person to purchase something from each vendor gets a free tiny tote bag to commemorate the occasion!!

Then quick images of happy folks. End description.
