The first night of the Tiny Tulsa- Mini Museum & Marker was overwhelmingly awesome! We had over 500 people come out to shop the vendors, check out the museum and high school gallery, and hang out with the artists! Luckily for you, we’ve got another day of it!! Come out to the Flyloft today from 11-5 to experience this very limited-time gallery of 48 Oklahoma artists. And remember, the first person to purchase something from each vendor gets a free tiny tote bag to commemorate the occasion!!

Here it is! B is for “Blue”. B is for: buttons, braille, burrowing beetles, barnacles, butterflies, bumble bees, birch bark, blackberries, buttercups, blanket flowers, and beauty.
This piece is currently on display at the @centerforcreativitytulsa at the TCC Metro campus as part of their “Please Touch the Art” show. It is meant to be felt, and when you do, hopefully your fingers can “see” just as many details as one’s eyes might. It is made of @cosclayusa flexible polymer clay and a plaster cast of my hand.

Enjoy some #asmr with the Braille slate and stylus. This was the last step to completing my new art piece, “Blue”. It’s a list of items that can be found on the sculpture both printed and in Braille. I happened to have the state already from my time in college learning about tools for individuals who are both Deaf and Blind. That influence is what brought about my first ever tactile art piece featuring my hands in ASL handshapes with Braille added in. Tonight my third submission to the “Please Touch the Art” debuts at the opening tonight at the @centerforcreativitytulsa!!
Description: white card stock on a dark wood desk is inserted into a silver braille slate, clicking into place. A hand pokes letters into the paper, the sound is a satisfying crunch. Timelapse video and quick clicks shows a whole line of letters printed, then the paper is removed, flipped over to display the finished words, and then cut and glued to a paper with a list of words beginning with “b” printed on it. It is glued under the words “Braille letter ‘b’” then another glued under “blackberry flowers”. End description.

My goal with this #TactileArt piece is to make every change in color evident to the finger tips. This swallowtail butterfly (Oklahoma’s state butterfly) is made of @cosclayusa so it will remain flexible after it is baked and painted! The opening for the @centerforcreativitytulsa’s “Please Touch the Art” show is next Wednesday, stay tuned to see more elements of my submission and how it comes together!

Made this stop motion quickly in a class the other day and managed to make all the basic mistakes 😂 (made worse my phone’s stupid focus of course).
