For those of you that are "regulars" as vendors or visitors to our Cumberland Covered Bridge Festival over the recent years I want to communicate the sad news that fellow Matthews Lion member Dan Glass passed away a couple of weeks ago. He died at 66 following a bout with ALS (Lou Garrigs diesease).

The Matthews Lions Club is in the planning stages for the
52nd annual Cumberland Covered Bridge Festival to be held
September 9-10-11, 2022 down by the 1877 Cumberland Bridge near Matthews, Indiana.
We are also gearing up for our Frosted Malt season at fairs and festivals in nearby towns and cities. This will be our 66th year for our delicious chocolate malt flavored soft ice cream.

One week ago the 51st Cumberland Covered Festival was thriving with thousands of visitors. The Matthews Lions Club sends a big THANK YOU to all the vendors, engine and tractor participants, entertainers, kids' features persons, the Nottingham family, and ALL others that made the festival a huge success.

Excitement is mounting for the 51st Cumberland Covered Bridge Festival. The Matthews Lions Club, have been the sponsors for all 51 years, and are working hard to make this year's festival enjoyable for all.

We have something for everyone. Continuous stage entertainment (check it out on our website: matthewscoveredbridgefestival.com).
Antique engines, tractors, and steam-powered engines that run a sawmill and thresh wheat.

Inflatable amusements for kids and horses to ride with the bridge in the background for great "Kodak moments." We have a huge variety of food, with two new food vendors this year.

And if that is not enough, we have a dozen new craft vendors to go along with the returning vendors.

I almost forgot to mention the co****le tournament (amateurs welcome) The signup is 10 am to 1 pm, Sat the 12th, with competition at 1:30 pm.

All of this for just $2.00 admission, children 10 and under are free.
Of course as always, parking is free!
See you down by the 1877 Cumberland Bridge Sept 10-11-12, 2021.

We are located right next to the 1877 Cumberland Bridge and have been all 51 years, sponsored by the Matthews Lions Club.
