“The hunt and go is a long format, but I actually really enjoy them and I think it gives the horses an opportunity to go in and they're ready to go at that moment. They don't have to go back and forth so many times. Barman is really, really tidy in his turns, and he's very capable of turning and jumping and galloping - as well as the trot jump, thank goodness!”

Nick Haness and Barman Des Ponts claimed victory in the $5,000 Middleburg Classic Derby, with Vivian Yowan & Lord Fantasy KWG in 🥈, while Haness and Odette placed 🥉. 🏆 More champions were crowned, including Kenzie Smith & Sundown as the Grand Children’s Hunter. "Cavaletto is a horse I know very well, and he’s a bit of a show-off. He's white, he's beautiful, and he has a very expressive textbook jump when he's in his element, which today I think he really was. I was excited to go first during the classic round. I wanted to show the judges how the course would ride. The jumps here at Middleburg are beautiful, and it’s a privilege to compete at such a historic venue.”

Nick Haness & Cavaletto Loma Z topped the $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby at the 2024 Middleburg Classic with stunning scores in the 9️⃣0️⃣s 🏆 Carlson, also ridden by Haness, took home second place, tied with Vivian Yowan on Say When, while Golden Road, Haness' third mount, rounded out the top four.
