Made this in Google Drawing. My students will be doing vector portraits within the next month, so I always like to get ready for that lesson by doing another one myself. Last year I did Prince. This year, Marilyn. Can't decide if she's done. What do you think?

Liberty and Freedom

Peach blossoms fall around
The form on this frosty ground,
A girl in a sad state, not knowing
The father of the child she is carrying
Inside her, the cold comforts her
As her fever rises, she is solely
Praying to nature, as the petals
Cover her, looking into the lacing
Branches above her, she thinks
I’m free to stay or leave…
Expecting or not, I’m here,
To take root or leave, to float
About in the streams, to conquer
My dreams and nightmares,
To proclaim my own decisions,
My condition in body and soul

The artist’s mind

My inner artist guides me
Through decades of living
The inner child becomes
A beacon of hope and faith,
Trying to help my wounded soul
Tender, vulnerable, and needing
A safe haven, to defend against
More criticism and accomplish
More with unjust grieve kept at bay,
A safe arena is desired and sought
Out, as my safety has been broken
A time to heal is needed, soothing,
The commitments that appear to
Be no threat, potshots gone, and envy
Suspended, resulting in required privacy
As this safe place returns and is a prerequisite for
Awakening of solitude and my personal domain
Is restored to an inspiring space of beauty, daring my
Inspirations and no prying eyes fight against it.
A safeguard to freedom, love, and conquering

Mom ❤️ I will miss as much as I miss granny Marge. Probably, way more, wish I could be with both of you and sweet Alice and my aunt's. There are so many people gone now that I miss, I hope you are them, and Happy. Of course, Reba and Grandpa Paul, too. Carolyn, even though, you had your disagreements as sisters do.

Finding difficult to focus on anything, I can't imagine going on without being able to see my mom and help her. I feel empty at this point. I loved just sitting by her. She hates winter just like me.
