My love for photography officially began about 3 years ago when I purchased my first digital camera. I always had a love for picture taking, whether it be of
my stuffed animals & dolls, my little sisters or my friends or the trees & flowers in our backyard, I was constantly snapping pictures of something or someone. I just didn't realize at the time that there was an art to it & a simple picture can bring so much beauty to a space. Since I got my first camera (an olympus) ,I have been studying & perfecting the art of photography. Between books & google I have been able to learn so much about how to take a perfect photograph. At the end of the day the real trick to taking an awesome picture is to have an eye for photography which God has blessed me with. A good snapshot stops a moment from running away. ~Eudora Welty
When I look through the lens of my camera I see what could be an amazing photograph. There is so much beauty in this world whether it be a flower, an ocean, a child or an object, a photograph captures it and freezes that beauty forever. Such a simple art but yet so complex.
“To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” Elliot Erwitt
My new years resolution was too capture as many moments in my life as I possibly could, as I waved goodbye to another christmas & year I realized how quickly each moment had gone, I spent all year running about & celebrating this & that, seeing this person & that person, graduating from college, but now again here I was at the end of it looking back trying to remember all the special things that had made it such a great year. But I couldn't remember them all, I knew they took place, but surrounded by so many other memories they became blurry & easy to forget. So that's when I decided that my camera would be my new purse, it wouldn't leave my side. Even to the point of annoying others I will capture as many of this years moments as I possibly can. So far so good!! How do you go about remembering each and every moment in your rapidly fleeting year? Don't let the pace of life stop you from stopping & capturing your special moments, each one is but a second and if we don't take the time to preserve the memory, like everything else in our lives, it will get lost behind the latest trend.
“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
Aaron Siskand
