Each building on Highgrove Farm has a previous life and story all its own, and The Chapel is no different. The story begins with the knowledge that the owners of Highgrove Farm are into recycling and reuse of all structures and materials. The Chapel began with the center high vaulted section of the roof. This portion came from a parcel of property at Lowndes County High School on Norman Drive. It was the roof system from an open air pavilion. After the removal of this portion, it was moved to the farm where the foundation and columns were secured in concrete. The Farm has a unique history created as a result of our 38 year family business in the demolition and dismantling of old buildings and structures. Each structure on the Farm had a previous history in another location and before being re-located to our Farm it had to meet our criteria for selection.
The first building after our home was the Pond House seen here, constructed from beams and materials salvaged from a old fertilizer plant in Macon Georgia. This was the family gathering place. Then came the Barn and Stable and the first weddings under the trees with young people in the neighborhood. Read more about our restorations and farm history on our website. A beautiful wedding venue in South Georgia. Highgrove Farm is nestled in a Pecan tree orchard with white board fencing and horses. The Farm has a unique history created as a result of our 38 year family business in the demolition and dismantling of old buildings and structures. Each structure on the Farm had a previous history in another location and before being re-located to our Farm it had to meet our criteria for selection. Each building is restored for a specific need highlighting the old wooden beams, exterior siding, interior planking and the structures natural beauty. Our chapel is ready and waiting for you.
