Rachel emailed me late at night about two months ago about her housewarming/fall fest idea called Valpalooza. As soon as we started chatting I just knew I had to work with this awesome chic. Only problem - her event was the same day I was planning another event in St. Louis.

In came the magnificent Karen and Kaitlin to handle set up and the best vendors you could ask for - and Valpalooza was born!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart Karen Shea for being my ride or die on this, Spare Room Studios for the amazing decor, for the incredible charcuterie, Balloontacular for face painting and balloon twisting, Northwest Indiana Tents & Events for setting up tents and tables like no one else, Nelson's Catering & Fundraising for the delicious pig roast, and for getting guests to and from Chicago safely.
And to Rachel and Joe for being so much fun and so creative!

This was so much fun to plan! Check out the amazing decor by Spare Room Studios, mouth watering food and bar by Patrick's, Steel drums by Kent Arnsbarger and the beautiful beach backdrop for it all. This was a dream team to coordinate!

We had the most amazing time with Maggie, Mike and their crew for Mike's 40th birthday party. We helped coordinate three events for them this weekend (more pics to come) and Maggie was the heart and soul of this event.

This review means the world to me because they were so sweet and generous to everyone around them, if they were even a little disappointed in their event, I would have just crumbled inside. 😅

Big thanks to Spare Room Studios , Patrick's Hospitality Group, Sunset Grille, Miller's Pizza at the Beach, my own incredible crew, and always my ride or dies for anything I need, Emma Wahl and Matthew Wahl, for being the driving force behind these smiles!

We had so much fun celebrating PhysioPoint’s 10th Anniversary yesterday. Dr. Nate and his team put an incredible amount of effort into showing appreciation for their community and it was a wonderful day!

Many thanks to the vendors who helped pull this off on one of the hottest days of the year! Balloontacular, The Sizzle Shack LLC, NWI Tents and Events, All In One Party Rentals Twisted Sugar (nailing it at their very first ice cream event), and Just Cheesin Food Truck, Ever After Equines - thank you for your dedication, professionalism and for not melting!

Jenny Beschinski Orchestrated Events, A Vendor Collective you are a woman of many wonders and so very many supplies! So lucky I got to work with you on this and I will always jump at the chance to team up with you.

What they don’t tell you when you stand at an altar on a lovey-dovey afternoon in fancy outfits is that marriage, on paper, is about commitment and fidelity—but marriage, in practice, is about sacrifice and starting over.

Even when you’re tired. Even when you’re angry. Even when you don’t feel like it. Especially then.

You wake up at 3 a.m. to a snoring spouse and jab his side so he rolls over, an interruption he doesn’t remember in the morning, but you definitely do.

Start over.

You glance down at the gas gauge in your car and realize sometime in the last 24 hours, despite the tense words you exchanged over nothing in the same time frame, he filled it for you just because.

Start over.

You turn dress socks and t-shirts right-side out as you fish them out from underneath the bed and toss them onto the growing laundry pile that never seems to be conquered.

Start over.

You hear him reading a story in the other room at bedtime, making the silly monster voice that dissolves your daughters into puddles of giggles, the kind of deep-down-to-your-toes laughter you don’t show him nearly enough these days.

Start over.

You put away yet another pair of size 12 shoes that always seem to be cluttering up the didn’t-I-just-clean-this front hall, the ones that track in sand and dirt and the heavy load of responsibility he shoulders for your family quietly.

Start over.

And you learn, somewhere in the minutia of married life, that this partner you promised forever isn’t perfect. You realize how flawed and finicky and utterly selfish you are, too.

So you start over. Again and again. Day after day. For now and forever, until death do you part.

It’s true what they say: marriage can be hard work—but it’s humble and holy and beautiful, too.

In the spaces between the picture-perfect moments and the memories that weave together a lifetime stand two imperfect people who choose, sometimes even without knowing, to start over.

And it can make all the difference.

When it comes to big events, it often takes a team to put all of the wheels in motion! I was thrilled when Jenny at Orchestrated Events asked for help coordinating the logistics, vendors and managing this event onsite on June 29.

Corporate events are where I got my start and I still get goosebumps whenever I get to work on an event like this.

Nate and his team at PhysioPoint are amazing and celebrating their TEN year anniversary. I have no doubt after working with them there will be many more to come but this is a milestone to be celebrated and they are doing it right!

Bring the kids because this party has free admission and they’ll get to ride in a real live horse and carriage! Sizzle Shack,Just Cheesin Food Truck and Twisted Sugar will all be selling delicious eats & treats, live music will playing, physical therapists will be getting dunked in a tank… you can’t beat it on a summer day!

I had the honor of planning a very special party for a wonderful client today. I have to give Alex at Cheesecapes a huge shout out for this beautiful grazing table. Her husband is a woodworker and all of the risers and platters are made by him. Truly an incredible team and can you imagine your guests walking in to this gorgeous display?
