STUDIO UPDATE ❗️

Dear UDA Parents,

We wanted to provide you with an important update regarding the recent pipe burst that occurred last week at the studio. Despite our best efforts to mitigate the water damage, we have discovered that the damage is more extensive than initially anticipated.

Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students and dance studio families. In light of this, we are in the process of implementing necessary measures to secure the space. While the renovations may not be fully completed by our target date, we are committed to making the space safe enough for our dancers and their families to be in the building.

⭐️New Target Date: Monday, January 29th

Please be aware that certain areas, such as the bathrooms, will still be under construction. We understand the inconvenience this causes and appreciate your understanding as we work diligently to restore the studio.

We will continue to keep you updated on the progress as well as any changes that may occur. If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out to us!

IMPORTANT NOTICE ❗️

Dear UDA Parents,

Unfortunately, we find ourselves facing an unexpected challenge. A pipe burst has caused flooding throughout the studio, and we are actively working to resolve the issue and restore normal operations.

As a result, the studio is currently closed for classes, and we are targeting a reopening on Monday, Jan 22nd.

Rest assured, we are committed to keeping you informed as we approach the reopening date. Regular updates will be provided to ensure you are well-informed about the progress of the repairs.

We deeply appreciate your understanding during this time. To address the missed classes, we are developing a plan for makeup sessions, and we will share the details with you in the upcoming days.

If you have any immediate concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Your patience and support mean a lot to us and we look forward to starting classes back up as soon as we can!

All dance and tumbling classes scheduled for today, Monday, January 15th, have been cancelled due to inclement weather. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority and considering the current extreme temperatures, we believe it is in the best interest of everyone to cancel classes.

We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. The decision to cancel classes is never taken lightly, but we want to prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone involved.

With winter taking hold, the Dowagiac Fire Department would like to remind you of 10 safe winter driving tips!

1) Take time to ensure that your vehicle is mechanically fit for the rigors of winter driving: Winter tires are always recommended, as they will provide superior traction where road conditions are affected by snow and ice.

2) Keep a proper snow brush and ice scraper in your vehicle and at the ready.

3) Always take the time necessary to clear off your windshield and all your windows with special attention being paid to mirrors. Your visibility should be that of the “360 degree” type at all times.

4) Take the snow load off of your vehicle as this poses a serious visibility issue for other drivers – becoming a portable snow storm is not in keeping with road safety.

5) Start from a stopped position smoothly and slowly: quick accelerations lead to spinning tires and loss of control.

6) Try to avoid making any abrupt turns or stops when driving. Having to skid to a stop is an indication that you are travelling too fast for road conditions. Drive in control at all times.

7) Increase the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle you are following.

8)Keep your lights on at all times. This practice increases your visibility so that other motorists see your vehicle and are aware of your presence on the road.

9) Try to avoid using your cruise control features in the winter. Quite often a loss of control can result from your vehicle accelerating unexpectedly on icy or snowy road surfaces.

10) Avoid distractions: cell phone use, changing radio setting, or any other activity that takes your attention away from the task of driving will lead to precarious situations. Winter driving demands all your attention in order to reach your destination safely. Drive with a sense of focused anticipation: concentrate on your upcoming intersection or expected turns and give yourself sufficient room to react to the unexpected.

We wanted to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your incredible support and enthusiasm during our Holidance performance yesterday. It was an absolute delight to witness our dancers and tumblers shine on stage, and we sincerely hope that you enjoyed the event as much as we did! ❤️

A huge thank you goes out to all the volunteers who generously dedicated their time and effort to help make the performance run smoothly. Your support is invaluable, and we truly appreciate your contributions to our UDA family!

We want to give a special shout-out to our talented dancers and tumblers. Your hard work, dedication, and fantastic performances made the event truly spectacular. You should be immensely proud of all that you accomplished on stage!
