While I eagerly anticipate the “real” photos from the oh-so-fun from this past weekend, I just couldn’t resist posting my first-ever “Pontoon Boat Intro” photo. Brides: this brand new venue in east LaPorte, Indiana, boasts lakes, green space, a gorgeous little pavilion with fireplace and full kitchen, AND Air BnB accommodations onsite for you and your guests.

We would like to take a moment to acknowledge all of the "behind the scenes" people that made Art with Heart 2024 not only possible, but an absolutely beautiful, magical night to remember. We could NOT have done it without you!!

Thank you to Jenny Bennett-Beschinski and her team at Orchestrated Events, A Vendor Collective. Holy moly, if you need an event planned, this team takes care of EVERYTHING. From start to finish, Jenny held AWH2024 like it was her baby, too, and we just couldn't be more grateful for her, Spare Room Studios, In Bloom 219, SHE Designs LLC , Alderson Photography , and Sutton Music Co.

Soooo much gratitude to Trey and his team at Aberdeen Manor Ballroom, Chapel, Garden, who were there early in the morning and late at night while we set up for multiple days, making sure we had anything and everything we needed.

Thank you so much to Katrina Shoemaker, who was our very first artist to donate and deliver art for Art with Heart! This piece is entitled Moon Beams, and it is from Katrina's Soul Sisters collection. It speaks to the importance of women lifting each other up. In Katrina's own words: " Through my soul sisters, I aim to capture the unbreakable spirit of women. Honoring their journeys, struggles, and triumphs. I seek to create a visual tapestry that weaves together stories of resilience, hope, and unity, inspiring the viewers to embrace their own strength and the strength of those around them."

We are so honored to have Katrina's work in our gallery for Art with Heart, and we hope you will join us in celebrating her and the unbreakable spirit of women on August 9th!

🚨 Hey everyone! 🚨

Our shelter is busier than a squirrel at a nut convention, and we're running low on some essential items. We could really use your help! We're in desperate need of:

🧴 Hand Sanitizer (because germs are not our friends)
🧴 Liquid Laundry Detergent (because clean clothes are a must)
🚽 Toilet Paper (because, well, you know why)
🧻 Paper Towels (for all those unexpected spills)
🧼 Disinfectant Wipes (without bleach, because we like our surfaces bleach-free)
🗑️ Trash Bags (30-gallon size, because we have a lot of stuff to toss)
🧴 Hand Soap (because cleanliness is next to... you get it)

If you can spare any of these, we'd be over the moon! Donations can be dropped off at the Portage Township Trustee's Office (3590 Willowcreek Rd., Portage). Office hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm and Friday 8am-noon. You can also call 219-242-2799 to schedule a drop-off at the shelter.

This is a fantastic opportunity for VBS groups, church groups, or businesses to organize a collection drive. Every little bit helps, and we promise to do a happy dance for every donation! 🕺💃
