Smokin Ain’t EZ bbq was at Tom Fellows Community Center cooking at City of Davenport Grills Gone Wild BBQ Competition. This was an inaugural The Kansas City Barbeque Society event at this new location. Thank you to all the City of Davenport Leaders and workers that made this event great! We look forward to watching the growth of this event in the future.

Team Smokin’ Ain’t EZ BBQ had a very good cook this weekend cooking against 28 very competitive Pro Teams from all over. We close 4 good lids this weekend and when the scoring was completed, we finished:
15th Chicken 171.41 we can fix this.
13th Ribs 173.13
10th Prairie Fresh Pork 173.12
4th Brisket 174.26
10th Overall 691.93

We are back for our 13th year! Join us on Saturday, February 24th from 10am-4pm for a day full of all you can eat BBQ samples! It is $15 per person and kids 10 and under are free.
This year we are supporting Girls of the World and the Pasco Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation program.

🔥Smokin’ Ain’t EZ BBQ fired up the smokers I Love Lakeland Pig FestivalI There’s something truly special about gathering around the smokers with some of the best Pitmasters across the US, and having our family join us on a spectacular weekend.

We started out Friday night in the ancillary competition finishing 4th place in appetizer with Aunt Nina’s special lump crab croquettes and 6th place sauce out of 34 teams.

The Team had a consistent cook turning in four great boxes.
Chicken, 3rd 178.857
Ribs, 13th Prairie Fresh(first on our table) 176.000
Pork, 46th 🤨 hummmm.
Brisket, 14th 174.262
Finishing out the day with 7th overall out of 61 teams.

Congratulations to Rooters-n-Tooters BBQ on GC and Ham Squad on RGC. Also like to shout out to Christopher L. Warren Going Yard BBQ with a perfect 180 in pork.

With the triple Crown facing us, we’re off to a decent start and look forward to our next 2 Kansas City Barbeque Society events and hopeful to vie for the Triple Crown.
