Here’s my 2024 recap of flowers I’ve decided not to grow for bouquets in 2025. While you might still spot a few if they pop up on their own, I won’t be purchasing their seeds again. Most of these didn’t thrive in our climate, lacked stem length, or simply didn’t hold up well in a vase.

Are you sad to see any of these go? Drop a comment below and let me know your thoughts—I’d love to hear your feedback! 🌸

I love taking time to reflect on everything we grew throughout the year, learning from the experience, and setting new goals for the year ahead. What gardening challenges did you face in 2024, and how do you plan to create an even better garden in 2025?

For me, my biggest challenge was not focusing enough on a cohesive color palette. In 2025, my goal is to start spring with soft pastels (my personal favorite), transition to warmer tones in late summer, embrace bold colors in the fall, and finish the year with classic white, green, and red. While working with red isn’t my favorite, I’m excited to challenge myself and align with seasonal floral demands.

Follow along to see how I tackle these goals and whether they come to life! Let’s grow together in 2025! 🌸

Today was a busy planting day! 50 roses down and 60 more to go next week. Now I’m in bed with the heating pad on my back from all the shoveling and digging.

What is going on here….. I have an anemone is already blooming! 🫣 I don’t need it to be in bloom for at least another 6 weeks. Hopefully it’s just this one and no others.

I have a limited number of these paperwhite bulbs with vase for $15 each. These make great holidays gifts! I have a few pre-sprouted bulbs already ready in the vase or you can purchase it with the bulb not sprouted yet. The one in the photo was started in water 10 days ago so they sprout quickly.

This year was our first year growing and I have to say these are a must on my grow again list. Next step is to dig them up and pot them so we can tag them and work on learning how to propagate them so we can grow them again. I also have more learning to do with how to keep them from falling all over the place and pitching them at the right times to promote branching. I am excited to continue the adventure of farming them next year!

Are you as excited as I am about having these butterfly bushes blooming next year???? I really think they are going to be a power house in the garden pumping out blooms all season long. You can’t really tell from the photos but they are two different colors of pink and then we also have a violet variety.

How am I still pulling basil from the garden in December! 😳 I don’t remember another year where we didn’t get a freeze by now. We sure did enjoy a late year pesto pasta this evening for dinner.

Today I started some amaryllis and paper-whites in a hydroponic tray. It is probably a little too late to have started them to have them ready for Christmas but this is really a trail so that next year it can be an offering. I’ll be posting about timing your ordering of your bulbs and timing the starting of the bulbs once I get it all figured out!
