Our Story.....
Now that our dream and vision has become reality it truly is a blessing to reflect back on how this all came to be. Our family members include my husband (Brent), myself (Angie), our daughter (McKenna) and our son (Chase). Of course with farm life comes animals/pets. We have a saddle horse named (Baby), a boxer dog named (LuLaBelle), a black and white cat named (Rascal) and our most recent fur baby a French bulldog (Chewy Louie).
Our idea to build a barn began when our best friends Greg and Tiffany said they wanted to get married on our farm. We needed a new barn so we decided to begin a new one in the field. It took several months of working with the credit union and our neighbor Greg Hartley who helped facilitate and supervise the beginning construction. Several events happened next that hindered the building and finances. My husband Brent had an accident on January 9th 2018, which permanently disabled him and changed our families lives forever. During that month there were many uncertainties. God blessed us and Brent is still here, he has overcame so many obstacles throughout this ordeal. Without the help of God, friends and family and our church family we would not be where we are today.
We broke ground on the barn May 24th 2018. It was the wettest summer we have had which kept building at a slow pace. Frankfort had to approve plumbing before other things could happen, this all takes time. Then we had to find contractors and construction workers to finish the outside and inside of the barn. Ed Scott finished the outside details. Nelson Burriss and Scott finished the inside of the barn including the entry way doors. Everyone involved has done a beautiful job. Danny McCane drew our logo and Karen Jordan came to liven up our walls in the bridal suite. I want to thank every hand that had a part in creating DoveTail Acres. It truly has been a labor of love that we hope our community will embrace and enjoy for years to come!
