Child su***de is becoming more prevalent every year. Bullying is a growing problem in our schools. Younger children often lack necessary coping skills. Social media access has added to this complex issue by creating online bullies - complete strangers.

The National Institute of Mental Health is hosting a free workshop (webinars), open to the public, on Thu. & Fri. May 9-10, 2019. Exactly 1 year ago today we had our first work day.
All we knew was that we had to get the mud out of that house as soon as possible.
The problem of 1/9/18 was just too big to even think about all at once, but we could get our heads around the idea of digging out one property.
It turns out that this is the way to tackle any overwhelming task...one step at a time.
You can literally move mountains, one bucket at a time. These volunteers helped to prove it.
After what we have seen in the last 12 months, we believe that, from debris flows, to hurricanes to global climate change - human beings can solve any problem if we all pitch in and help each other out.
A united community is the true human superpower.
We have seen this power in action and it gives us all a spark of hope for the future.

Su***de hotline calls rose by 65% after Spade, Bourdain deaths

I am catching up on t.v. and something very meaningful was said by Sharon Osbourne regarding the su***de of Kate Spade. "I've been in treatment for depression & I've been with children whose mothers have killed their selves. If you could see the state of all the children who I have met, whose mothers have committed su***de, nobody would ever think about doing it who is a mother, ever, ever again." Profound words.

Su***de hotlines fielded 65% more phone calls over the previous week for the National Su***de Prevention Lifeline, and the Crisis Text Line saw a 116% increase in volume, with the su***des of Kate Spade & Anthony Bourdain.
