Months of planning and a week long of
cooking, yesterday was the culmination of all of this. The Ordination into the Priesthood of the Catholic Church for Michael Garvin! Such a beautiful mass and the best venue I’ve ever had the chance to use! 24 pork butts for pulled pork, 60 # of pasta salad, green beans with bacon and onions, coleslaw…dill dip with donated veggies, cheese trays and fruit. Lots of cookie and really good cakes!!

Three very busy days, felt like KP duty in the military! 100 pounds of potatoes and 48 pounds of carrots! Birthday party for my Aunt who shares her day with St. Patrick’s Day!! True Irish dinner, homemade corned beef, potatoes, carrots and cabbage, also beef stew, vegetables and dill dip, relish tray and garlic knots! We had such a great turnout and the food was a hit! So grateful to do this for my family!

Another photo dump…can’t keep up with everything! First we have briskets seasoning for three weeks to become homemade corned beef for a party on the 17th.
Next up we have the assembly line for lasagna last week, it was amazing….as I’ve been told!
Last we took advantage of the beautiful weather one night last week and grilled some tenderloin medallions, served with a peppercorn/brandy cream sauce, rice and green beans…I could eat some right now thinking about it!
We’ll see what this weekend brings!

Time for a photo dump….superbowl fare was sloppy joes, coleslaw and then “Cedarpointer” footlongs…tried a different potato salad recipe, we did not like it, so won’t be doing that again.
Then the men had great porterhouse steaks and I had a filet from Fligner’s, can’t beat their meat!Homemade steak sauce and some leftover sides to go with!
Next we had fried chicken with all the sides…corn, mashed potatoes and gravy…yummy!

Family dinner after Brent’s dad’s funeral…been a long time coming. Prime rib, carrots, loaded baked potatoes, shrimp, bread and mushroom sauce by request. Hopefully everyone got their fill!

A little behind posting pictures this time, but months of planning went into this most beautiful wedding! Thanks so much Pam for convincing Adam into letting us do the catering for him instead of doing it himself! Smoked brisket, grilled BBQ chicken, greens, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, cornbread and a salad bar. Pictures up until the moment we opened up the buffet, too busy too fast! So happy everyone enjoyed it!!

So busy, didn’t get many pictures, but always the best Christmas party for these most adorable kids! Breakfast burritos, bacon, sausage, cheesy potatoes, French toast sticks and fruit.

For those who like some heat, highly recommend these peppers! Sautéed with some red onions and andouille sausage add spicy marinara and fresh Asiago cheese served over fresh Italian sausage and mozzarella ravioli throw some shredded mozzarella cheese on top and voila!! Scrumptious!!

Friday’s wedding was lovely, so happy for my other sister, Mary Beth and her new husband Mike. I was honored to bake for the reception and set things up for her. Her daughters in law made the table decorations and she let the rest up to me, I hope I made her happy! I found the best flower candles that just added to the table. Cookies and cheesecakes all around were a hit!

Literally non-stop cooking and baking(!) for the past two weeks! Thanksgiving photo dump and cookie pics….now I remember why I don’t like to bake!!

Fresh turkey from Davlin’s farm VS Krogers turkey (😂), what a difference! It was worth every penny! Most of the usual sides, changed up the dressing this year. Went with an old favorite, sausage, Fennel and pear….it did not disappoint !
Cookie recipe is from my sister, not my specialty, but the occasion is worthy. Wedding cookies for a very special wedding today…I’m no professional , but I think they came out pretty well and no matter how they look, they do taste great! Sour cream cutouts with homemade buttercream frosting, that is amazing!!
Secondly, I also did bite-sized cheesecake cookies, 4 flavors, fresh strawberry, cherry, raspberry and blueberry. Hoping my bride and groom will be surprised, they’re not expecting them! My drink muddler was the perfect tool for filling and packing the graham cracker crust into the mini muffin pan, these are very addicting!

Today turned out to be a beautiful day for a bridal shower! Loved the venue and everyone enjoyed themselves. Chicken salad, ham and cheese, turkey and cheese, macaroni salad, fruit salad, cheesy potatoes, veggies and dill dip and lemonade. Desserts were made by another party, beautiful designs and colors.

Thanks to Dave and Joni for the great opportunity , I believe it was quite the success! Mopped and BBQ pulled pork, grilled chicken with BBQ sauce, greens, macaroni and cheese, parsley butter potatoes, coleslaw and cornbread! What a great party honoring two great people! So much fun!

Two major parties, both on the same day, last Saturday. First was my great niece’s graduation party and then my 40th(!) class reunion!! Lots of food was cooked in three days! Italian buffet for my Ms.Mea and a BBQ feast for my class!
Lots of work, but worth every minute!!

Lots of cooking over the holiday. Some of the standards for one cookout….burgers, hotdogs and brats, sautéed peppers and onions. Watermelon, cantaloupe, pasta salad, German potato salad, meat/cheese tray, chips and 3 different different dips. Next cookout was tenderloin steaks, bacon wrapped grilled asparagus with parmigiana cheese and bearnaise sauce, smoked Swiss Roesti potatoes! So delicious! Anyone that walked away hungry, that’s their own fault!

Busy weekend cooking….feeding a lot of people, Sunday I made coleslaw, pasta salad and country style ribs, again with my homemade BBQ sauce….another command from the son! I don’t follow many commands, but this was a good idea!

Because my son demanded that I make him some shredded chicken with my homemade BBQ Sauce…then the husband said, well if you’re making that, I want my shredded chicken as well!! So LOTS of chicken later we have both! It was worth it making all that chicken yesterday!!

The most perfect weather….grill time! Steaks to perfection, homemade steak sauce …baked potatoes for the men, rice for me and whole wheat garlic bread . Amazingly good, been a while since we had a good steak!

Used my depression glass for Mother’s Day, because, why not? Why pay for brunch when it’s so much better at home! Forgot pictures of the chocolate covered strawberries I got my mom in Amish Country…had to have one, it was the best chocolate I have ever tasted!!
