Hi everyone! I just wanted to reach out about the Bowden Raffle. My heart is bursting!! It hasn’t even been 48 hours and we have managed to raise over $15,000 and counting!!! All because of you guys! I have wanted to cry at each chime from Venmo. This family is so loved and I feel so blessed to be apart of something so amazing.

With that being said, we are up to 500+ spots for the raffle drawing. I was not expecting that! I am truly blown away. I’m trying to decide the best way to go about it. !!!⭐️Raffle for Kanyon Bowden (Kenzie Kyler)⭐️!!!

This sweet family has been on my mind and in my heart so much lately. We have also been on the other side of it and have seen first handed how giving and generous this community is in time of need and wrapping a family around in love and support.

I would like to start a photo session raffle for them. The winner will receive a full session from me, you may book it anytime you’d like!

$25 a spot, you can purchase as many as you’d like. All proceeds will go directly to the Bowden Family. Please help this deserving family out. They have gone through so much.

Kanyon is 2 and a half years old. He is the sweetest, happiest little guy. He is a joy to be around and a such a light. He was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis. They are battling scary seizures. They have countless appointments, treatments, tests, the list goes on. They had a big scare the other night and were life flighted to primary children’s hospital where they currently still are. Kanyon is currently intubated.

“We had a few appointments in December with his TSC clinic he kept having break through seizures and trying to find the right dose of meds while he is having a growth spurt is SUPER hard. We had also scheduled with the plastic surgeon. I scheduled to see if there was anything we could do for his cute head (bone lesion/ forehead plaque) . We met with doctors. They decided it was best to get another set of imaging since his cute marking was looking more prominent which meaning - looked like his bump had gotten bigger in size just by looking at him. Also I started noticing small nodules growing underneath his hair line and it getting more bumpy. The Dr. suggested that we need a biopsy of it. I told her we had just got one done a year ago in December. She explained that was only of the forehead plaque and not the bone lesion. I didn’t know it was 2 separate things. She explained even though they are joined together he has both and we need to see about getting a bone biopsy. She reached out to other BIG Tuberous Sclerosis Doctor and they havent seen these two things together like this ( SUPER RARE). We went back in for imaging. It has grown from a 9 to a 12 in almost just 6 months. The first year it only grew from an 8 to a 9. The reasoning for the bone biopsy where it is growing and changing they need to make sure its benign. They have no idea and need it done sooner than later. We met with Swartwood again and she wanted to get Kanyon approved for a new medication to try for his bone lesion. Its called Afinitor Disperz – another name for it is (Everlimus). It acts like a chemo. (it is NOT a chemo) Afinitor is considered a targeted therapy. Targeted therapy works by targeting and attacking cancerous cells – aka Bone lesion but it does was chemo can do. It Took us weeks to get it approved. It is VERY VERY hard to get and Very expensive. His insurance finally approved it!! YAY!! We went out again last week for his bloodwork that needed to be done before we could start the medication they have to check so many levels to keep a close eye on things especially his kidneys where he has the tumors in them. Bloodwork came back good so we were able to start the medication on January 29. We go back out in two weeks to check levels again and have to keep doing that every 2 months or so while he is on medication. The side affects of this medication completely SUCK !!! On day three of the new medication we took him to the Dr. and its doing exactly what they warned me about. He is getting what they call chemo sores in his mouth his belly is super upset and has diarrhea like crazy. If you want to compare it to anything for the sores in his mouth its 1000 times worse than hand foot and mouth sores and there is nothing we can do but try and dab lidocaine on them to numb the pain every couple of hours. His hand have been having a burning sensation and just keeps pulling at them and saying ouch. This will also make his immune system SUCK. It’s an immune suppressant drug . We have to be SOOOO careful with kanyon and to NOT get him sick! With any infections on this medication and can spike a fever instantly and thats when he has his seizure that he stops breathing on us. We finally got in contact with the neurosurgeon team and they will see us Feb. 27th to go over the procedure for his bone biopsy . Then get it schedule .
Our biggest nightmare happened Friday Feb 9. Kanyon spiked a fever and went into a seizure . It was the worst one yet ! We thought we were loosing our sweet boy . Kyler ended up starting CPR on the way to the hospital. We got there and they immediately gave him more meds to stop his seizures and Intubated him . We ended up being life flighted to primaires. Where we are currently.

Sorry that was so much info but here we are trying to survive around here! Also please pray for Kanyon. Pray his body will start getting stronger to breathe on his own Pray the doctors can help us find answers and do the procedure safetly! (It’s a big one) Pray for me for that I can put all my stress and worry into gods hands. Pray I can sleep better at night and also Pray I can change my thoughts and see the good in everything I am facing right now.”
