Here are a few Medium format film photos I took at Kacee and Jeff's wedding at David's Country Inn with my trusty Ricohflex twin lens reflex camera from 1953. This was the first time I shot film at a wedding. It wasn't the easiest camera to work with but it sure was fun.

So there seems to be a lot of misconception about the sun rays damaging your eyes and cameras with this upcoming eclipse.
It seems people think the eclipse itself will hurt your eyes and cameras.

There aren't any different or extra rays coming from the sun or moon as the eclipse happens. Sun rays can and will damage your eyes and camera sensors as they have forever. But people don't stare at the sun for a long time on a day to day basis because of natural reactions to the bright sun making you close your eyes or look away. Your retinas do not feel pain and you will not feel your eyes burning. Your cameras may handle sunlight even directly especially on wide lenses but zooming in magnifies the rays and are more likely to damage your camera sensors and definitely your eyes.

Think of using a magnifying glass to start a fire... That's what's happening with your eyes and camera sensors.
