Some family fun from summer. Dreaming of warmer weather & being seaside with this bunch. The ocean is nostalgic to me for many reasons, but mostly because it is a second place to call home & reminds me of childhood vacations. I love being able to bring my kids here. 🌊 But that last photo with Miles & his 🕶️ & Jake & Maddie in their element is my favorite.

Thinking about romantic Kentucky wedding venues and pops of color today. This wedding will always be near to my heart. One of my absolute favorite local locations because of the beautiful natural variety of landscapes is Whitehall House & Gardens. I think this venue is severely underrated. If you’re dreaming of color and are planning a spring or summer wedding then this location is a dream. And call me, because I love this place.

Ellie & Michael! Engaged!! I couldn’t be more obsessed with their fall engagement session. They are beautiful inside & out, down to earth and made this session a breeze. Couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate them both this spring! Once again, picking just a few is such a tease because there are so many they made wonderful. Also, a moment for Ellie’s outfits. I’ll take one of each.

Stepping into the new year grateful for each and every couple who chooses me to capture their memories. Every image is a reflection of my clients & I do not hold that responsibility lightly.

To every wedding planner, neighbor, & fellow vendor who has chosen to throw my name in the hat and be the first voice to my clients and speak on my behalf when I am not in the room— you ARE heaven sent.

My journey in this industry began ten years ago but to make this work for the long haul has taken a small village of support grounded on trust & impeccable skill that I must continually live up to. I am forever grateful to the people who lift me up.

Winter weddings and this couple will always hold a special place in my heart.

Truly there is something sweet when the air is crisp & cold but the warmth of the people around you makes everything special. We walked out of the ceremony with the sun setting quickly, but we still had a glimmer of light and wind that gave magic. Happy Anniversary to these two!

Gratitude post. It is the season of Thanksgiving & my heart couldn’t express how grateful I am to each of you being on this journey with me. Serving families, businesses & couples for the better of the last 10 years through imagery has been my favorite dream to chase in the career world. I don’t think I’ll ever do something where creating something beautiful & celebrating someone else’s story wasn’t intertwined. You all give me purpose and meaning. I love being behind the camera & interacting with families during seasons of hope, joy & celebration.

I have no idea where Sara Cooley Photography will be in the next ten years, let alone next season but I pray it is centered around being able to create something that will be preserved & shared. I pray I am centered around a joyful community & continue to be inspired by the people around me.

Thankful to each of you & especially to my partner, Casey whose champion of my work gives fire in seasons of doubt & confusion. Can’t wait to see where the wind takes us next. Love is truly the thing that keeps me going. 🫶🏼
