I started experimenting this year with lavender. I used it as filler for some of my bouquets as I didn’t have a lot of filler flowers this year.

I really love how it smells, so I picked some to bring inside and display in my bathroom. Thinking about growing more of this next year.

The peonies I ordered from Berbee Bulbs arrived on Friday. I ordered my first peony roots from Berbee last year and was so happy with the quality I ordered again this year. 

I spent most of the weekend getting the bulbs in the ground and into pots to overwinter. I bought Festiva Maxima this year, beautiful white flowers with a small pink center. They are gorgeous and will look beautiful in bouquets or in a vase. I can’t wait to see them come up in the spring. 

It’s a rainy day on the lake, but the flowers are still blooming. Cut this gorgeous bouquet in between raindrops. .

Flowers bring me so much joy and I love sharing them with others.

Here are a couple bouquets I made for some friends on the lake. I also made a beautiful sunflower bouquet for our neighbors John and Lorene but I forgot to take a picture of that one 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s challenging to pick sunflowers right now because I think the bees love them as much as I do! I typically leave my sunflowers in the ground after they have flowered so the birds can eat the seeds. The circle of life of a sunflower is just fascinating 🤓

These are the peonies from the roots I planted in the fall of 2023. I probably should have cut back the flowers to strengthen the roots but they are so gorgeous 😍
