We are off this weekend. 😊

At the end of last season, I promised myself to work on realizing it’s NOT normal to work yourself to exhaustion like some type of badge of honor.

Last year, LBD had 23 weddings. This year, (without Charlotte, which Devon runs) I have 13 and would only take one more of it was an amazing fit. ♥️

I’m in my 24th year of wedding and event planning and always so proud and amazed of this little business I built 14 years ago.

And that’s a wrap on, “Take Your Child To Work Day” LBD Style! ✔️

Maxin’s Day with Little Black Dress Events! 🖤

• LBD was so busy, he started his day with a less than nutritious breakfast. A cake pop on the go!

• Off to Lowe’s to grab paint samples. He learned they make for amazing design inspiration for color on an event design project I have been hired for.

• Headed out to Wildroot Flower Co. to pick up wedding flowers and get a bouquet of our own.

While at the farm, our girl Lyndsay Biehl, gave him a tour of the flower production barn. Maxin also, got to hold an egg that was just layed by a chicken. He also got to see the goats and play with Hadley, Lyndsey’s golden retriever.

• Next stop, lunch at Chick Filet. (Probably less than appropriate since we were just w/ chickens. 🤦‍♀️) LBD rarely has time to actually eat lunch, but since he’s 11, I had to feed him. He understood the assignment - you just eat in the car.

• Off we went for a design meeting to choose pieces for a wedding at Ace of Heart Designs.

• I explained, I ALWAYS hit up the car wash if I’m near one. It’s important to remember, clients will see you pull up, and your car should be clean. So we checked that off of the LBD list for today.

• We headed to a site visit and Maxin learned more about how I measure and place a tent for a wedding reception. He measured 40x100 today and also, 40x80.

• We finally made it back to the LBD office. At the office, Maxin organized the LBD Bridal Kit. That’s actually, a very important job.

What did Maxin say about today?

“Wildroot is one of my new favorite places.”

“Wow! You must be exhausted at the end of the day.”

Last month I had the pleasure of working with Marietta Scout Pack 207. We discussed proper manners and the art of table etiquette.

I absolutely loved teaching the Scout Pack the proper way to - butter a dinner roll/bread, to cut meat, to eat pasta, to set a table correctly, and the always fun…which fork with which course.
