“Choice Rose” is headed around the final turn. Much like the rest of the property, this vehicle represents a lot of history/ memories for me.
We have recreated the vehicle my grandpa purchased new in ‘65, after retiring from GM as a tool and die maker.
Grandpa passed in 70, but I was able to drive that original vehicle in the late 70’s as a teenager, when my parents owned it.
Looking forward to many good drives in this vehicle, and probably a burnout, or two.
Build it, and they will come.
We did and they are…..both the humans and the animal kingdom.
I have lived on this property for 54 years, and have never seen Great Egrets here. (Shown in the video below) They are a cousin to the Great Blue Heron that has been a visitor of ours for years.
The new ceremony space that we built over the past winter is wowing all the species, and we would like you to join us for an open house this coming Sunday, 8/27, noon-3.
There will be complimentary beverages from noon-3, and complimentary pizza from one of our favorite vendors, Who Doesn't Like Pizza, from 2-3 pm.
2024 pricing will be honored for any 2025 weddings booked before 9/1/23.
Whether it’s the new ceremony space, our spacious newly built rustic modern barn with heat, AC,ADA compliancy, seating for 275, our extensive landscaping that is unparalleled by anyone in or near central Michigan, or our renovated 1910 barn residence bridal suite that sleeps up to 17, you will definitely see the reasons wedding clients are flocking to LFB.
See you Sunday!
Mike and Sarah.
Time for some breakfast….
I have no words….well, maybe just a few.
Sarah and I worked on a little project over the winter.
Let us know what you think about it.
Better yet, contact us for your personal tour, or visit us at our Open House on Sunday 8/27 from noon to 3. Complimentary Wood fired pizza by Who Doesn't Like Pizza,(from 2-3 pm) and beverages.

50+ years ago I was the little guy riding around in the tractor with gramps on the 80 acres he owned here.
Yesterday, this Gramps was the co-driver with grandsons Noah Michael Burnell and Benjamin Louis Burnell(6th generation to live on the property),
as we moved 10 yds. of spectacular composted soil to the North end of the vegetable garden.
Over the coming months we will be using this tractor to build a new ceremony space unlike any other in
Michigan, that will leave you breathless.
I bet even somewhat stodgy Grampa
Vern would’ve approved.
Alexa, one of our upcoming ‘22 brides,
visited recently to show the property to family members and bridal party.
Halfway through the tour, the following happened:
When big cat Perry sees a spot in the sun,
he can leap tall buildings in a single bound
All 28 lbs. of him.😂
Build a wedding barn, they said!
It’ll be fun, they said!
In reality, it is.
To turn our 110 year old family owned property into a spectacular wedding venue
is exactly that.
