(30)
Little Flower Barn, is a central Michigan wedding/event venue that is on property that has been family-owned for over 100 years. Mike Fiorillo and Sarah Porter have teamed up to create a one of a kind venue, with the original 1910 renovated barn residence/bridal suite with lodging for 17, and a new 5200 sq. ft., 300 person occupancy event barn with a balance of traditional and modern design. The p
ond side ceremony deck, as well as the event barn, are bordered by extensive terraced, fieldstone planting beds with hundreds of plants. The barn was built in 1910 by Ernest and Helen Faling (Mike's great grandparents), the property was inherited by Vern and Choice Foster (Mike's grandparents) in the 1960s and Mike transformed the barn into a three-story home in the 1980s where he raised his three daughters. Mike's oldest daughter and her husband honored the family's heritage and held their wedding on the property August 6, 2016. If you are interested in learning more about our event space please contact Mike 989-644-5149, or at [email protected].

I still l have four spots left for minis this Sunday at Little Flower Barn!

This week’s project has been the widening of the blacktop at our main entryway, a new cement post to replace my Great Gpa Ernie’s north side post he made over 100 years ago, and new fieldstone lined landscape beds.
Like Ernie did, our construction of the new post incorporates dozens of grapefruit size rocks to help reduce the quantity of cement used. To simplify the pour, we are using a sliding form to do 1/2 the column at a time.
If you haven’t seen LFB in person,
please contact us for a tour.
You will find the combination of reception barn, 1910 renovated barn residence/bridal suite, spectacular landscaping, pond side amphitheater ceremony garden, and heavily involved owners, makes us one of the best values in the state of Michigan.
This lady is a spectacular photographer.
And a pretty exceptional daughter, as well.
Kick off the summer with updated family photos at beautiful Little Flower Barn!

Rock me gently,
rock me slowly….
Cranking out some new entryway landscaping, and halfway through my 7 ton pile that got delivered today.
The first of our existing contracted brides that comments with the name of the singer of the above oldies hit, wins a free bottle of champagne for their wedding.
Go!!
The Chrzanowski Wedding Willow is thriving, much like the dozens of field stone lined, landscaped beds on the property.
One more reason to make LFB your first stop when venue shopping.
Our new bar was built in house, much like most of what is built at our venue.
-We have landscaping that is unparalleled in central Michigan, if not the entire state.
-An amphitheater ceremony garden
unlike any you have seen.
-Lodging for up to 17 in our renovated 1910 barn residence/bridal suite.
-Owned by two DIY’ers that are always looking for things to improve
on the property.
-text/call Mike at 989-644-5149 for more info.
Another teaser on the new Streamline Moderne style bar.
A design concept that originated in the 30’s, mimicking the linear and radius elements of car and boat design.
This 16’ long dual station, maple beauty, which I made in our on site wood shop, is a spectacular addition to the eclectic reception barn at LFB.
See you soon!
Mike and Sarah
Our new bar is going to knock you out.😁
See you soon,
Mike and Sarah
In what will be one of our last large scale landscape projects, it’s all hands on deck, to complete this 80’ x 20’ hillside by the pond in the next couple of weeks. Sarah is running the mini excavator, Robert is removing roots and grading, and I’m head rock moving technician.
Yet another reason to make LFB your first venue to tour.
Please hurry though, as 2025 is 80% full.
See you soon,
Mike
Mother Nature is really testing our thousand or so new flower plants in the ceremony garden, that you see poking up through the snow in the foreground.
Plant count is now 3179.
Natural beauty is just one of the many attributes at Little Flower Barn.
A little brain surgery going on at LFB this weekend in the form of some curvy, plywood woodworking.
I’m making a Streamline Moderne bar (offspring of Art Deco design), similar to the inspo photo shown below.
Much like the new amphitheater ceremony space we built last year, this spectacular bar will add to the long list of reasons to plan your wedding at Little Flower Barn.
Our awesome bartenders, Mike and Sherry will soon have a bar setup befitting of their talents.
This will not only add a more efficient two station bartender setup, but will add another great photo op to one of the most photogenic venues around.
See you soon,
Mike and Sarah
“Choice Rose” is headed around the final turn. Much like the rest of the property, this vehicle represents a lot of history/ memories for me.
We have recreated the vehicle my grandpa purchased new in ‘65, after retiring from GM as a tool and die maker.
Grandpa passed in 70, but I was able to drive that original vehicle in the late 70’s as a teenager, when my parents owned it.
Looking forward to many good drives in this vehicle, and probably a burnout, or two.

Activate Fall colors in 3…2….1.😁
At Little Flower Barn, we like to invest in our business in ways that will truly improve your wedding day experience.
This philosophy has resulted in last winter’s amphitheater ceremony space construction(which the owners singlehandedly built),which is unlike anything you have seen in the central Michigan area, if not the entire state.
This coming Winter’s project is a Brunswick style bar in the reception barn, which we will be constructing from scratch in our wood shop.
This continued improvement is one of the main reasons why LFB is the wedding venue of choice in central Michigan.
Build it, and they will come.
We did and they are…..both the humans and the animal kingdom.
I have lived on this property for 54 years, and have never seen Great Egrets here. (Shown in the video below) They are a cousin to the Great Blue Heron that has been a visitor of ours for years.
The new ceremony space that we built over the past winter is wowing all the species, and we would like you to join us for an open house this coming Sunday, 8/27, noon-3.
There will be complimentary beverages from noon-3, and complimentary pizza from one of our favorite vendors, Who Doesn't Like Pizza, from 2-3 pm.
2024 pricing will be honored for any 2025 weddings booked before 9/1/23.
Whether it’s the new ceremony space, our spacious newly built rustic modern barn with heat, AC,ADA compliancy, seating for 275, our extensive landscaping that is unparalleled by anyone in or near central Michigan, or our renovated 1910 barn residence bridal suite that sleeps up to 17, you will definitely see the reasons wedding clients are flocking to LFB.
See you Sunday!
Mike and Sarah.
A literal beehive of activity this morning as we attempt to install a couple more picture windows on the west corners of the wedding barn.
Sarah’s tall, flowering prairie plants have been attracting dozens of bees, so we gently covered said plants with some giant tarps, and they seem to be working….all is good, other than the unsettling buzz of a hundred bees three feet behind us while we work!😂😂
We would like to invite you to visit Mike and Sarah at Little Flower Barn’s Open House on Sunday, August 27, from noon to 3pm.
Our new ceremony space has exceeded our expectations, and is getting rave reviews from this years’ brides who are seeing it for the first time.
Owners Mike, Sarah and right hand man Robert built this space over the course of the last 6 months, and it is simply another spectacular amenity at the most value oriented venue in the state of Michigan.
-4500 sq. ft. reception barn with seating for 275+, ADA compliant,
Heat and A/C, bartenders-ice-insurance all included, 2 bonfire pits
with firewood included
-1910 barn residence/bridal suite
with lodging for 17
-extensive fieldstone lined landscape beds
-barn beam party pavilion
-commercial refrigeration
From 2-3 pm, Who Doesn't Like Pizza will be serving their awesome wood fired pizza.
Beverages and pizza are complimentary.
Hope to see you here
If Fireworks aren’t your thing, can we entice you with some spectacular nature?
The 10/16/22 picture on the right shows our centerpiece maple tree in our new ceremony space, which is shown in the left pic. This tree is approx. 100 years old, 60 ft. tall, 4’ in diameter, and provides a beautiful addition to this space.
We have Sundays, 10/8 and 10/29
available this fall, and
Sundays 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27
and Friday 10/25 available next year.
Please contact Mike at 989-644-5149

50+ years ago I was the little guy riding around in the tractor with gramps on the 80 acres he owned here. Yesterday, this Gramps was the co-driver with grandsons Noah Michael Burnell and Benjamin Louis Burnell(6th generation to live on the property), as we moved 10 yds. of spectacular composted soil to the North end of the vegetable garden. Over the coming months we will be using this tractor to build a new ceremony space unlike any other in Michigan, that will leave you breathless. I bet even somewhat stodgy Grampa Vern would’ve approved.
Alexa, one of our upcoming ‘22 brides, visited recently to show the property to family members and bridal party. Halfway through the tour, the following happened:
