Thanks for all your input on selecting a color for the original tin ceiling from 1909. Bronzed Ochre was the color we selected. It looks absolutely gorgeous!

The restored 1909 tin ceiling is now ready for its debut. Bronzed Ochre has brought new life to this historic feature. Glenn's masterful work on the ceiling reflects his meticulous attention to detail. It is absolutely gorgeous! She has been restored to her former glory!

When we acquired the building from The Optimist Club there was a haunted house upstairs. I wanted to share some pictures to show you what we started with. We gave away many haunted house items and filled multiple dumpsters. It has come a long way!

The Bluegrass Room is upstairs at The Venue on Main. The upper level has been renovated to include everything you need for your special events. The Bluegrass room has a feature wall of Kentucky. This area is available for smaller events with capacity of 150. This area also has access to a kitchen and 2 restrooms. Still deciding if we want to stain the shiplap wall or leave it natural. Stain or not to stain? Let me know what you think about the Bluegrass Room. Thanks again to Kate Gallagher Bateman for all her help with our Kentucky wall. Glenn and I chipped off the brick for Ky. Kate had great ideas for the bluegrass to surround it. Loved working with her to create our vision.

Glenn and I narrowed it down to 3 metallic colors for the tin ceiling. From left to right 1. Bronzed Ochre, 2. Gilded Gold, 3. Bronzed Ginger. What is your favorite?

Glenn repaired this bad spot in the ceiling. It had been patched with this old sign. We love old signs but it looks so much better now.

We are in the final stretch. We can see a bright light at the end of this long tunnel! Almost 5 years of hard work to make this dream a reality for our community. You simply can’t imagine the countless hours that have been spent on this awesome building from 1909. One of my favorite things about the building is her beautiful original tin ceiling. I can’t brag enough on Glenn for the fabulous job he has done with this ceiling. He is a perfectionist so I’m sure it looks better than it did in 1909. This has certainly been a labor of love. Thanks to The News Enterprise for coming and sharing an update on The Venue on Main. This historic building is being transformed back to her original beauty. We are bringing back her charm and character with exposed brick walls and ornate tin ceiling. It is a perfect setting for weddings, receptions, celebrations, baby showers, business meetings, reunions, etc. We will also have a large selection of decor that can be used for all events.
We bought the building in fall of 2019. Our vision was to renovate and open the historic building as a venue. It has taken much longer to complete this project than initially planned. Glad we are in the final stretch. We have put in countless hours and lots of sweat equity to keep as much of the historic aesthetics in the building as possible.
Main Floor - new additions include large open area for round tables and chairs, spacious restrooms, kitchen, and staircase to upstairs and lower level. Top Floor - new additions include spacious bridal suite with make up stations, private restroom and access to the kitchen. Large grooms room and restroom. Lounge area, kitchen, and additional area for smaller events. Lower level - Finders Keepers has an extensive inventory of vintage, antique, rustic, shabby chic, boho and elegant decor for all occasions. Decor will be available to anyone renting the building.
Special thanks to my husband, Glenn, for helping to make my dream come true. He has also had lots of great ideas for the venue. We are working hard to have it finished for a 50th class reunion for NHHS. We love our community and take pride in providing a very special addition to downtown. Blessed to be part of the downtown revitalization in Vine Grove.

Merry CHRISTmas! Taking a break from demolition today to spend time with family and friends. Celebrating the true meaning of CHRISTmas. Already talking to people about booking The Venue on Main next year for CHRISTmas celebrations.

The Venue on Main will be available spring 2020. The old Optimist Club building (nestled between Wilson and Muir Bank and Main Street Dental) will be transformed back to her original beauty. We are bringing back her charm and character with old exposed brick walls, original tin ceiling and beautiful arches making it the perfect setting for weddings, receptions, celebrations, baby showers, business meetings, reunions, etc.
Finders Keepers has your largest selection of vintage decor and wedding rentals in the area. Finders Keepers will relocate in the lower level for all your decoration rental needs.
