Yesterday I was able to virtually attend a Creator Summit put on by Wizards of the Coast.

Many of the people attending didn't get the answers we were looking for, but we got the opportunity to voice questions and concerns directly to top level people.

Their community team is composed of rockstars, and there was a general sentiment that those individuals need to be given all the resources they need, and the team needs to be expanded.

There are lots of other people that can better articulate some of the more serious points, so I'm just sharing some game specific news.

A few things we learned about next year's core rules update.

⭐ Everything coming out this year and next year is NOT 6th Edition or 5.5.
✨ ITS ALL STILL 5TH EDITION ✨

⭐ New Players Handbook in 2024
✨ The PBH will help players learn how to play BEFORE going through character creation.
✨ Updated classes(12)/subclasses(42), with each class having 4 subclasses.
✨ Weapons Masteries, weapon properties that can be unlocked by specific classes.
✨ New art for everything

Yes, I want to grow on the platform so these numbers have been nice:

However, the comments have been weighing heavily on me. There are so many people that struggle with ADHD and have experiences like...

➡️ Being told they're "bright, but lazy"
➡️ Teased for being "scatterbrained"
➡️ Never understanding why they'd do so well on tests, but NEVER wanted to do their homework

The 2 most common comments?
🥇People hearing their Dr. Barkley's words, hearing themselves described, and crying. I've never had so many people tell me that I'm responsible for them crying in a day.
🥈People asking "how do I fix this?" I am NOT a mental health professional, but I still know that it's not something that can simply "be fixed" right away. The best recommendation is going to your doctor.

For everyone out there that struggles with focus in one form or another, know you are not crazy.
