Our Story
The history of Martha's Vineyard's Morrice Florist is rich. The shop was founded in 1940 by James Morrice, the island's first farmer florist. Mr. Morrice grew all of the shop's flowers in his State Road greenhouses and was completely dedicated to his craft.
Emily Coulter took ownership of Morrice Florist in April of 2014 and since then she has updated the aesthetic of the 75 year old flower shop. Today, the shop is open year-round offering a stunning selection of flowers and arrangements ready for purchase. More than just a flower shop, Morrice Florist now sells a huge selection of thoughtful gifts and housewares from chocolates and greeting cards to throw pillows and coffee table books. Most recently, a small scale gardens was built on site where Emily and her team of enthusiastic flower lovers are growing a variety of favorite blooms.
We are proud to say that Morrice Florist continues to be the island's community flower shop handcrafting beautiful arrangements for birthdays, anniversaries, get wells, and funerals.
