In anticipation of the incoming winter storm, Town of Vinton offices will be closed to the public on Tuesday, 2/11/2025. Also, the offices will have a delayed opening at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, 2/12/2025. Please check our page for updates on office hours.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for our area from 4 a.m. on Tuesday, 2/11/2025, through 4 p.m. Wednesday 2/12/2025. Heavy mixed winter precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations of 2 to 6 inches and ice accumulations up to one half of an inch are possible. Travel will become hazardous.

Today marks the 76th birthday of the Vinton War Memorial, a cornerstone of our community since its dedication in 1948. Built to honor the brave citizens of Vinton who served during World War II, the War Memorial has become a cherished space for civic groups, town residents, and those from the Roanoke Valley to come together—whether for meetings, discussions on local issues, or celebrations of special events.

We are thrilled to continue this tradition of community connection and are excited to announce that we’ll be hosting even more community-based events in the near future. Stay tuned for updates on what’s coming up!

Looking ahead, please note that the War Memorial will be closed from January 2025 to April 2026 for important renovations. These updates will revitalize the building and enhance its beauty, ensuring it remains a vibrant hub for our community for many years to come.

We were all geared up for a hurricane, so we decided yesterday to work from home today. But guess what? It's sunny! 😅

There won't be any staff at the Vinton War Memorial today, but if you need to schedule an appointment, give us a call at **540-983-0645**. We'll happily arrange a meeting for another day—hopefully with more accurate weather predictions!
