IT'S NOTHING TO DREAD, LICE ONLY LOVE YOUR HEAD

There's no need to stress about delousing other areas of your home. Scientific studies indicate that it is extremely rare for lice to be found on carpets, furniture, brushes, or combs. Even if they were, they would struggle to reattach to a head.

If it gives you added peace of mind, you can vacuum and/or use a sticky lint roller on sofas, chairs, and carpets. For combs, hairbrushes, and ponytail holders, you can place them in a plastic bag and leave them in the freezer overnight. While this step is not necessary, it can be a simple way to feel more secure.

Head lice do not live on stuffed animals or pets. There's no need to store toys in a bag in the garage for weeks, and you don't have to bathe your pets. Avoid using bug bombs or sprays that claim to eliminate lice in your home or on your pets; these products are unnecessary and can often be toxic and ineffective.
