A Year In Review: Steph Saunders Events

2023 has been one of the best years yet — I can’t believe it’s almost over!

Since starting this business, I have been beyond blessed to work with the sweetest and most down to earth couples and each year I’m blown away with the events that I get to be a part of. This line of work can be challenging and exhausting but ultimately it’s so rewarding and I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else. I’m not sure what I’ve done to deserve all of this but here we are — at the end of yet another wedding season looking back on the past 12 months and counting my blessings over and over again.

🍰 It’s my 33rd birthday today and I’ve already consumed a chocolate chip cookie AND a chocolate croissant all before lunchtime so let that be an indication as to where you can find me during your wedding reception—at the dessert table 😂

and outdid themselves with this creation. I may have to bypass my own birthday cake tonight but can we appreciate THIS work of art for a moment?! That crisp line of the top layer is so satisfying. 👏🏼

Thanksgiving. A day to reflect and share what you’re thankful for. I have so, so much to be thankful for but specifically, I’m thankful for the opportunity I’ve been given to do what I love. I’m thankful for those who have supported me since day one and the relationships I’ve gained since then. I’m thankful EVERYDAY for the amazing past, present and future couples whom I’ve had the pleasure to walk alongside during one of the most emotional and important times of their lives. I don’t know what I did to deserve any of this but for that and everything else, I’m grateful.

One benefit of having a second shooter for the day—or even part of the day—is having the time and freedom to take some fun shots of the guys before the heavier bulk of the wedding day photos begin. Typically, a lot of the photographer’s morning and early afternoon is spent with the bride (for good reason ladies 😉) but we love when the groom gets a few of his own moments to shine. If the budget or vendor’s availability doesn’t allow it, your photographer will still be able to get some great shots of the guys throughout the day but how cute is it to capture some authentic bestie moments like these? 😂 I know how hot it was on this late August day but these buddies showed up and showed out for their groom! 💪

How has it already been two months since C&K’s wedding day?! has the such great vibes and was the perfect backdrop to showcase this sweet couple’s love ❤️ These two put so much thought, intentionality and effort into the planning of their wedding day and we were honored to bring their vision and hard work to life. ❤️ Happy two month you two!

Sam & Rob’s first look allowed them to spend precious time together with their friends and family before their ceremony which felt so special and genuine to them as a couple. We had so much fun that weekend and these photos take me right back to that day. Happy Anniversary you two!

What a beautiful location for this couple’s engagement photos! 🌊 Although I’m technically on vacation, I couldn’t help but capture some of the action we stumbled upon at Niagara Falls. There were a few tourists that didn’t love all the “space” these two required but I understand what it takes to get a great shot!
