Thoughts of Microdac.
Today's news indicates to me that we are NOT there yet, but we are making progress.
Automobiles are much safer than they were just a few years ago. Almost all accidents are due to human errors (not mechanical errors).
In many countries, food safety and efficacy are taken seriously enough that foods are banned when any substance incompatible with human health is added for profit.
I recently saw the content of cereal in the United Kingdom vs. the content of cereal here in the USA. In the UK, no junk and impurities were allowed.
Finally, our legal and law enforcement system is making progress. The day after Medgar Evers was murdered, law enforcement knew who was responsible, and yet it took the legal system 20 years to bring the perpetrators to Justice.
We still have work to make Justice a part of our legal system, but we are getting there.
It was only a short time ago that our system allowed for the planting of evidence. Just as it was that long ago, entrapment was a matter of course.
This story of Mississippi suggests that progress is being made.
Even wars have been more complicated to convince people since the war in Iraq.
The war in Iraq was all about lies, profit for friends, and the weapons industry making tons of money. That sacred human lives were lost was of no concern to those who waged that war.
Poor, underprivileged people are no longer easy prey for the excuses for wars. People are becoming more sensitive to the less fortunate.
I am happy about that progress in thinking.
As for Justice, it is just a matter of time before it becomes automatically a part of our legal system.
Ever wonder how many innocent people are now in prison having been framed?
Five other former law enforcement officers are set for sentencing this week in Mississippi.
